The changes to the note system really made lives redundant.

I appreciate the improved framerate and draw distance, but the note score thing really was a bad call. Why be play well to keep your notes when you can kill yourself on purpose and get an easy, consequence-free warp back to the start?
That's why the N64 version is the only version.

I have mixed feelings about the note system. My personal preference is the OG system, because I enjoyed the feeling of tension, despair and eventual elation that came from dying in the 90s in Click Clock Wood or Rusty Bucket Bay. But if I was introducing someone new to the game today, and they realized that the half hour of work they just put in was effectively erased, I could see that being a significant barrier to wanting to continue to play.
I really want Rare Replay on PC game pass tho. I sold my broken 360 and want to be able to goof around in N&B.

Call me a Calvinist, because I agree with you, John!
The new note system is much easier but does save some pain in Clanker's Cavern and Rusty Bucket Bay.
