Spent the last few hours playing BattleBorn's open beta. It's actually really addictive, and fun. I can't say that about a lot of new games. I wish I could compare it to Overwatch, but Blizzard still never sent me a beta invite, even though I opted in to it day 1.

the trial stuff for sonic in sonic adventure is really fun, when it's not casinopolis

if it's casinopolis then suddenly the "get 50 rings and finish the stage" thing means "play pinball until you get enough rings to reach the exit, then play pinball again until you have fifty more rings because reaching the exit makes you lose all your rings, and then finish the stage"

and the third one is just SPEEDRUN A WINNING GAME OF PINBALL IN FIVE MINUTES

sonic adventure 2 made a huge improvement, not having sonic's third stage be a game of pinball (and also having a snowboarding segment where you can actually control sonic and not bounce off a hill into another hill and officially lose all chances of getting a secret emblem)

Definitely agreed on this. People talk a lot of shit about the game but it's probably my favorite Zelda. Just something about the designs and the world in general I've always liked, plus it has my favorite story of the series.

I agree that TP is great, but I still like OoT the best. Pretty much every 3D Zelda after it has railroaded the flow of the game with story gates. OoT had some story railroading too of course, but not nearly as much as the later games. You could complete either the Goron Caves or Jabus Belly first after the Deku Tree, the adult dungeons can be done in almost any order except the Shadow Temple, and the mini-dungeons can be done any time after you've got the Master Sword. Even lacking equipment is rarely an obstacle in OoT as really only the Shadow Temple requires items from other dungeons. From Wind Waker on you have to do all the dungeons in a rigid order, and there's a fair amount of plot mandatory events between them that often fix you in one location until you're done. It kind of defeats the point of having these large overworlds in TP and WW when you spend most of the game being locked into one area of them, or just simply not having the tools to reach anything in them until the end game.

Of course, TP still has the best boss fights and some of the coolest items. It's just a shame that it also has some of the most plot bullshit in it too. Though Skyward Sword definitely has it beat on level of plot bullshit.

i think my top three zelda games would be majora's mask, wind waker and ocarina of time. majora's mask is just my favorite zelda game in general, wind waker has some of my favorite stuff but it's weighed down by some pretty big issues, and oot is just a simple, full 3d zelda experience without all that many big problems weighing it down

twilight princess is fine but i'm just not really a big fan of it at all

You all should be playing Battleborn, while its few hours of free beta are left. It's so much fun, when you have a good team or even when both teams are pretty equally matched. Almost now looking forward to this as much as Overwatch, if the community improves a little when its not all f2ps.

So I've been playing Ratchet & Clank and that game is awesome and also really good looking. For $40 this game is a steal. Hyrule Warriors Legends is fun, but I haven't touched it in a week. I'm doing Red slowly on 3DS, trying to catch a Missingono. at the moment using the catch mew glitch. Speaking of Mew's I now have 4 of them.

I just found Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition in my Steam game library.

Will report back with results.

EDIT: Played up to the 'Tauros Demon' that you have chase you across the bridge and up the tower. I probably won't ever play it again, because I did this part about 4-5 times, full health, 8 flasks, a few soul things, and 10 bombs. Half the bombs I threw at it went right inside it and vanished, the other half the character spun towards the camera for no real reason. I only ever got hit when the AI freaked out and zoomed across the world to apparently hit me, even when their weapon is no where near me, and yet mine doesn't benefit from that same fake distance.

Also no campfires even remotely near to a boss that can one-shot you? Honestly as poorly designed as I imagined it was going to be. Should never have to go through the same 10-15 minute area because the game throws something at you that, even though you figured out what to do immediately, still punishes you for merely seeing it for the first time.

Can't handle criticism of your favourite game ? Also I couldn't, because the monster got wedged in the stairs, allowing it to rapidly hit me, 'fall' and then hit me again. I shouldn't really be seeing issues like this an hour or two into the game, haha (otherwise it wasn't too boring).

Wait, do you mean you judged the series as being terrible before you ever played any of the games and are now validating your views by playing the game yourself so you can prove how bad it is

Please don't be like this this is how I used to be with old-school Resident Evil and it's not cool or smart

I didn't know I owned one, but I've played them before. I'd never actually spend money on this, . The thing is, old-school RE is old. This isn't. Outdated game design doesn't really appeal much when, like I said, there's many better, or different games to choose from now. This isn't PS1 tank controls, or the first foray into 3D games.

Tbh, Dark Souls could be literally the greatest and most superbly designed game in the history of the universe and it literally wouldn't make any difference, because you've clearly already decided that you want to hate it, and you're going to focus all of your energy on looking for things to complain about, and every death you'll take as a great flaw on the game's part, instead of a learning opportunity (which every death in this game is; the most important part of every boss battle is learning their patterns and coming up with a strategy).

Also, the walk from the Undead Berg bonfire to the Taurus Demon really isn't that bad, and, again, I can't help but feel like you're intentionally making yourself more frustrated with it just so you can confirm your beliefs (seriously, "nowhere near" the boss? it's extremely close). And it's clear that's what you're doing, because no one who hates a game as passionately as you apparently do would go back and play it, unless they just wanted to give themselves something to complain about. ("I've been ranting about how shit Dark Souls is lately; I should go play it so I can forcefully give myself more ammunition so I can keep complaining!")

Also, Taurus Demon is pretty easy, tbh.
