Aonuma hears our cry for MM remake?

Schreier: I have to ask… I asked readers what questions I should ask you, and the number one question was that you’ve hinted so many times about a new Majora’s Mask or a Majora’s Mask remake for the 3DS—will we ever see that?

Aonuma: I do know that fans want to see Majora’s Mask. I’ve heard that voice, it’s very, very strong, and I’m always listening, is what I would say.

Schreier: I think people reacted to the teaser in A Link Between Worlds, the mask in the house. People saw that and thought it was a hint for the future, so that’s why people are excited about that.

Aonuma: Maybe I was toying with them a little. (laughter) I’m doing everything I can. I hear the voices of the fans. There are so many out there. It’s very loud, and just to acknowledge the fact that the need, the want is out there, I put that in there.

On the main site for Grezzo, the people behind Ocarina of Time 3D, you can see the job offer page is all in Japanese and what can be translated is “Will you help us create a Legend?” Does this mean Majora’s Mask or a different Zelda game?

Takashi Tezuka wants MM3DS and Sunshine 2 but has no information.

NZGamer: I have a question just for myself as a big fan of a multitude of games Tezuka-san has worked on. Is there any hope for a Mario Sunshine sequel or a 3DS remake of Majora’s Mask?

Tezuka: [laughs] This is my personal opinion, let’s start with that.

NZGaemr: It can be off the record if you like.

Tezuka: I mean, of course I wish we could. I personally would like to enjoy those again but I don’t have any information.

I am shocked we didn't hear about MM3D during E3 this year, but judging by Grezzo asking for help to "create a legend" with them is a good sign in my opinion. If they weren't already working on MM3D, chances are they decided to after seeing all the hype for it during E3.

Anyway, what do you think? Will we be getting Majora's Mask on the 3DS or are we just expecting too much?

There better friggen be considering all the teasing they've been doing. The Mask in A link between worlds, skull kid in smash brothers for some reason, they even said years ago that if they do remake it, it would be after an original game was released on the 3DS.

But I guess the mask thing was confirmed by Aonuma to literally just be a troll move. He said he put it there as a sort of joke for all the MM3D supporters.

But with the Grezzo listing I have renewed hope. It wouldn't even take long. I figure if they were to start development now, they could probably finish by winter at the latest. They already have all the assets remade and story down, it wouldn't take long to piece together.

I'll be amazed if we don't get something Majora's Mask-related on the 3DS. Nintendo's been dropping hints left and right, from the mask itself in A Link Between Worlds to the moon in Hyrule Warriors. I'm guessing it's a remake in the style of OoT3D, but a sequel or homage is also a possibility.

Incidentally, I ship the moon from Majora's Mask with the sun from Super Mario Bros. 3.

As someone who has printed tags before, this is not impossible to fake, but eh could be real?

When I say no, I mean not anytime soon near it's release. Maybe years down the line. I'm dirt poor and I'd much sooner buy something new than something I already have.

Same UPC number... hmm. Looks very photoshopped, though.

The person that took the first image answered some questions, he said that tag was in the planogram during a shelf reset. As someone who used to do shelf resets, they give you envelopes of tags to put up on the shelf. Though the only strange thing here is, if this game is coming out dec 31st then why is it being included in the planogram this early? Do they want a gaping hole on the shelf until christmas?

Interesting. Isn't December 31st the placeholder date for any game expected to come out this year, but without any official date decided yet?

Yes, but my point is they wouldn't include it on the shelf so early because it would just be a hole for months.
