Yes, but with a random selection you might wind up with someone with a 2 day old account, or someone who wouldn't appreciate it as much winning. It could even wind up on ebay the day after the competition. Plus, there's now (At the time of posting) a 1 in 114 chance of winning, which is depressing

I hope it doesn't end up on ebay but there's nothing we can really do to stop that. A random selector will be the fairest method all round.

I hope the fact that I won the Christmas art contest won't affect the outcome of this contest. I can picture them possibly end up randomly picking my name and then saying, "Hey, he won the last contest already, give someonez else a shot *skip*".

Then again, I highly doubt I have the slightest chance of being randomly picked anyway.

This may be a bit unfair, but... why is it that random new members are able to enter? 80% of the people in the group have barely posted, ever.

That is unfair, Fox. You have to take into account that you, I, all of us were once new members here at one time. RWP has gained a LOT of new members just for this contest alone. And like most forums, many of them will stick around and many of them will not. That's part of the point, right? To gain new members?

Contests should be openly available to give each individual a chance to win. It wouldn't look good on the RWP's reputation if they were saw as a website that segregated the new members from the veterans, would it? One day, these new members will become veterans as well. So don't look at them as n00bs or whatever, think of them as the 'future leaders of the RWP'.
