But seriously, I think in his game he was closer to enraged emo, but I can see where your coming from.

Edit: Plus he's black because thats the colour of the hole in his soul.

It should be Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Maybe Shadow from time to time, but he should play a Zero-like role as a rival and periodic partner. Amy if and only if she needs rescuing.

No, its real, thats how Sonic the Hedgehog and Ivo Robotnik came to be. They actually introduced Sonic as the brown Sonic for a little while before and it was only after he transformed that he met all the characters he knows now.
Dr Ovi Kintobor is still around too, his old personality was copied onto a prtotype ring and later transferred into a computer that ran the security for the Mushroom Hill Zone on Angel island.

I think that Shadow does play a vital role in the newer sonic games, as an anti-hero, but Sonic should always be the main focus of the games. And I agree, some of the characters were so poorly thought up, I think Silver tops them all. I mean, he comes from a world filled with plot holes and he's probably the most useless sonic character, coincidence? But Sega isnt going to cut down on Shadows appearances, he's the favorite character of the fans, so expect him alot more. And I know I'll be welcoming him... unless he brings in more vehicles -shudders-

NONE OF THEM PLAY VITAL ROLES.

They all make the story absolutely awful and stupid, and should be eliminated. There should be no story other than "Robotnik is being evil and robots and stuff", as Sonic Team is clearly made up of a group of mentally ill individuals that couldn't make a basic story if they tried.

Also, no more of this "lol 3D sonic that can still be like 2D sonic". IT STILL SUCKS. ALSO, THE STORY IS EVEN MORE AWFUL THAN BEFORE.

I used to actually like Shadow, during Sonic Adventure 2, but after that...he kinda began to get on my nerves... I mean, where the hell did he learn to drive vehicles?! Why does he drive them?! Why does he use a gun?! He has super speed...but instead he chooses to drive 55? Seriously? I mean come on...

and Silver the Hedgehog? What is that? He's from the future? why?
Why does he need to be from the future? Why does he have to be a hedgehog? Seriously, Sega needs to quit inventing characters and just use the original ones...

They keep adding characters to extend the target audience, I mean, before Rouge was added how many jokes like this could come from a Sonic game.
Also, they have somewhat kept the balance of characters, I mean they killed off Mighty the Armadillo in Sonic Heroes to introduce new characters later. Sonic has always had a fairly big cast of characters, theyre just not as well known as the modern ones.

I'm fine with Characters, not every game needs new characters...I mean seriously, they can extend the target audience by simply marketing the game very much like Nintendo does Mario. Yes over the years we have seen the cast in Mario games grow larger and larger, but at least those character's were interesting...Mario's personality really hasn't changed all too much from over the years, mostly because he hasn't had one with the exception of the cartoon. But the formula Nintendo uses in most of their games hasn't really changed all too much. They experiment with many other spin-off games that have been quite successful, but I think Sega is trying to produce game after game after game and what's happening is we are getting nothing of any true quality. If the games' are meant to attract a new audience that is fine, but make it a quality game first, I mean hell...with the exception of Sonic: The dark Brotherhood, which wasn't even made by Sega team, none of the games have had a decent review so I don't think our complaining about Sega is unjustified
