Rumor: New Donkey Kong Country?

Isn't there supposed to be a 3d Donkey Kong game for wii coming out or was that scrapped?

Anyway a new 2d Donkey Kong game would be awesome, I would get it release date. Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 were awesome, I haven't played 3 yet, but the first 2 were good so a fourth would just add. It would be cool if every Kong was playable.

I say just drop Donkey Kong and bring it over to the 360 and not the Wii. I want another platformer to come from rare. I hope another one comes.

Anyway.

Despite it being a rumour, it doesn't seem too unlikely. After Wario Land: The Shake Dimension it's not that unlikely they'd revive another of their old 2D platformers on the Wii. Sure, we might still get some motion control gimmicks but they may end up as subtle as shaking the remote to attack like in Galaxy instead of pressing a button. I do hope this is true though.

Donkey Kong was created by Nintendo, Nintendo owns the rights, Nintendo wouldn't sell the franchise that made it so popular


however, i would very much like to see a new DK country game, i think it could work well on the DS or the wii to be honest (with the DS you could use the D Pad to move and you could tap the screen to jump or pick up items and with the Wii, if you turn the controller sideways, you have a NES like control scheme)
