Wake up, there are Rumors afoot!
According to our old Pal ThumbsUpMaster, a leak on 4Chan from a previously creditable leaker, has revealed the possibility of a 20th Anniversary Banjo Kazooie remake under the code name Banjo 20A. The alleged project is 75% done and will include additional new areas, enemies, and items. Graphical updates drive it a smooth 60FPS in stunning 4K. (That's a lot of pixels)

Maybe Retro-studios or Playtonic could make a crack at using these, maybe it's happening already!

Could be neat, but I'm skeptical. If something does happen, that would be cool. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

This makes me very happy. I was expecting some cosmetics for Sea of Thieves at the very least, but I'm hoping for this and Banjo in Smash.

I have been on my toes about anything Banjo-Kazooie-related this year. Banjo-Kazooie released in 1998, Nuts and Bolts released in 2008 (time flies), so now 2018....?
And I know, I know they're busy with Sea of Thieves. But I have been mighty suspicious of Rare's behavior recently, particularly of some of its staff members. I mean look at this: I don't actually know if he turned out to be referring to something else, but that sure SOUNDS like Gregg "Grunty" Mayles, the man who wrote all of Gruntilda's dialogue and who is by all means, essentially the father of Banjo-Kazooie, taking up the mantle of poetic hag yet again. What if they outsourced a lot of the work to Playtonic Games? That would provide one explanation as to why Playtonic has been dead quiet since the released of Yooka-Laylee.

The real riddle is: will Roysten be in Sea of Thieves? Will we get a prequel backstory about Roysten's life on the open waves, back when he was a voyaging young goldfish with a hunger for gold? That's what I want to know.

Ugh, I can't keep getting my hopes up like this. But if they were to do anything, I think I would prefer a remake (maybe they could even combine BK and BT into one game), because I don't really have much faith in Rare or Playtonic to create a new Banjo game from scratch that would really hit the spot like they did 20 years ago. I feel like those teams are too far removed from each other now, and to be honest, I didn't think Yooka-Laylee had the polish. (But that feels true of most games these days to me; perhaps the complexity of game development has increased so much that there's just not enough time to focus on the game, camera, and the little things anymore.)
