Unhappy Yesterday's gamers...

Are sitting in their rocking chairs, waving their canes erratically, and bashing today's gamers on the head with it.

In short: Yesterday's gamers are the equivalent of Cranky Kong.

"They can't keep this level of graphics up for much longer! We used to be lucky if we only got three shades of grey, let alone any real colors!"

"Look!...look at this!...as I rock, my beard swings! Waste of frames in my opinion!"

"Now where did they put the level I designed? Hmm... I can't seem to find it. It was called the 'Great Girder Grapple' as I remember. Oooh, I must have spent at least 3 minutes working on it. I even drew them a fancy little picture. Bah! It must have been too good for them. The kids would have refused to play their fancy 3-D levels once they'd gotten a taste of my 2-D girder action! Don't give up hope though; they might have hidden it somewhere like a priceless gem, hoping that no one will ever find it..."

...

"You're only reading this because you're bored!"

"I can't believe you're still reading this! What you need is a good trashing!"

"Does anyone ever actually read these quotes? Waste of a post if you ask me!"

"Tired of me? You're lucky I'm here to brighten up this boring topic!"

When you think about it, we're just a bunch of washed up nostalgics that no one cares about anymore.

I agree with you. It's sad what this new generation is turning into,. We need just a touch of nostalgia in our current releases so we can feel the love, too. <3

Agreed.
Games are way too generic. They need a game designers personal touch, something to distinguish them from all the other games.

I feel the same way, Twi...I am a Cranky Kong supporter, and am proud of it! Also, I'm a casual gamer now, much to the dismay of some friends. I'll be buying the DSi, and not an XBOX 360.

The only good game console is the PC.

Although I dont think its technically a console, isnt a console what distinguishes games machines such as Wii's or XBoxes from PC's?

But PC's are great, and last, theyre always last for games releases, with shoddy ports.

Yesterday's gamers also knew the meaning of the phrase "good game." Didn't matter if it was in the arcades (Mortal Kombat II!), on a Command & Conquer server, or even on Xbox Live circa 2004. They knew what it meant. They knew how to say it back or even beat me to the punch. And they didn't feel compelled to tell me that they had carnal relations with my mother last night.

Sorry, I had to laugh at this.

Classic "Back in my day..." Story!
