My intentions are to use the rare decompressor. But you dont have to do all of the searching, my program will generate a file to be injected.

Including Levels, Music, Graphics, Text, Sprites, Textures, Sound effects, etc. So far we have a text editor, and Sprite editor in development. I'm definitely going to check out Subdrags Source, because I'm pretty sure it will be annoying for someone to inject a thousand edited files into the ROM, when it's possible to write a program can extract and inject them back into the ROM. Subdrag, I have a question. Would it be possible to just Expand the ROM to a single file? I mean, have all the data decompressed, but just as one HUGE file. That would get rid of the problem of slow load times for the future level editor. Then when you are done editing, you can re-compress all the data, and you're good to go. I think I have an idea, just de-compress all the data and then write it into a single file, would that work? I'll take a look later. Last edited by runehero123; 4th January 2009 at 03:28 AM. |
