bk texture tool HELP PLEASE!

ok so im tryin to edit textures, so i make a savestate, open it, save a texture as a bitmap, then try to replace another texture with it and i get this message :

You save your bitmap as 16 colour indexed.

i dont know how to do that tho whenever i save a bitmap it just saves

im just opening other savestates then saving the textures in those savestates, then tryin to open then on another savestate (just trying to move textures basicly)

also i have microsoft paint if that helps

I doubt you could do what you need to do in paint. Download this and have a play. http://www.gimp.org/

If you can't figure it out, I will get it myself and try to guide you through it. I might have already made a tutorial for doing this on The Gimp, so I'll have to try and find it.

You can create 16 colour bitmaps in MSPaint. When you save your image, on the file dialog change the drop down to '16 Colour Bitmap'.
