.spc help!

maybe i shouldnt post it here, if thats the case, someone lemme know!

for the last few years, ive been trying to get a hold of the soundtrack to donkey kong country 3, and have been out of luck.

but, sometime last summer, i found a download for the .spc files. which was very exciting, because that meant i was one step closer to having the songs.

i quickly found an app to play these files called audio overload, and it even offers a converter that supposedly converts the files to .wav format. the only problem is, it doesnt successfully convert them. it says its done, but the output file is completely unusable.

basically, what im looking for is a good converter for mac (pc is cool too, becasue if thats all i can get, i can bother my friends for their computers) that will convert them to anything (.wav, .mp3, midi, wahtever, as long as i can put it in itunes).

so, if you can think of any program thatll do that, please help me out!

thanks.

Get Winamp. Then get the winamp addon that can play spc files. That's what I did

Yes, and with winamp you can also use the lame encoder. which outputs any file you can play with winamp to mp3

Youtube has lots of songs for video-games. I'm sure you can find some or all for DK3's soundtrack.

Then you can use Mediaconverter.org to rip the sound from that into any music file format. It's what I do .

NO! Naturally, the emulated DKC3 SPCs sound disorientated and instrumentally inaccurate!

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RJ48YC3P

^ Please take that one instead. They loop twice, fading at the start of the third loop; consist of every tune in DKC3; and most importantly, are MP3s recorded from the actual SNES playing an actual copy of DKC3.

Wait... SPC sound inaccurate? Lol, you're about to get pwned!

*pwns*

There, you had that coming.

SPC files are the original music files as sequenced into the game. NOTHING is more accurately than the original sequenced SPC files.

Uh, no.

SPC files are original music files, but the programs that play them, i.e. Winamp with the plug-in don't accurately play the files. You can definitely tell the difference between emulated Enchanted Riverbank and the real thing.

Pretty much EVERYTHING is more accurate than the current state of the SPC players when it comes to playing the DKC music.
