-=Goldeneye PC=- Anybody want to help?
Well the idea came to me when i was looking at Goldeneye XBLA screenshots, still mourning over the demise of the project "I am a huge Goldeneye nut i play it still". the idea came to me, well i bet if i could get a bunch of people together i could get this idea to happen.
I really don't know it sounded like a good idea to me yesterday. what i wanted to do was make goldeneye but have it a little different so it wouldn't be a total remake just like how the XBLA version would be and have online play and all that jazz. i dont know i have no programming skills nothing. id need help alot of help. and we all know how alot of fan made games turn out. I'm crazy even thinking about this. Discuss this insane project lets see if we can make this into a reality... sorta

I think he meant single player, which all the Source conversions lack.

Edit: in other words i want to make this feel like the original Goldeneye that was supposed to be on the 360. not the Spruced up Source version.

I guess people would want to know what you can bring to the table. If you've got no programming experience, you're going to have a hard job getting anybody to work for you.

And yes i know, this seems very very far away to me getting to work on this. and finding people to work on this with me wont be the easiest job in the world.

I would suggest using the Goldeneye setup editor to remodel the levels to look like the xbla version and then in project64/1964 use the hi-res texture plugin to place those lovly textures to the model.
This would use the power of the PC but the Origonal source code for the game to the instruction. Ive always wanted to port GE to PD to make use of the advancments in the GE/PD Engine. (smarter AI, lights etc) Trev |

I haven't tried it, but if it can be combined with the RIce Video Plugin, you could get some good results.

None of that is required, use the GoldenEye Setup Editor - extract level to obj - edit in a modeler - import background file (tutorial found on GoldenEyeVault.com)
Textures are done using a plugin. Trev |

Open the setup editor.
File - Open Uncompressed. Select a file like USetupDamZ.bin, no Ump's or PD Levels. IMG The main picture should change to a greyscale one. Edit setup - Visual Editor Mode - Edit Room Positions Convert - Entire Level To Obj done. The result is like here http://86.27.100.180/Dam.zip Trev Last edited by trevor; 16th January 2010 at 10:53 AM. |
