Technically not vidya but..
I've recently been shedding a lot of social connections that were not serving me anymore. Unfortunately that has led to not having a lot of people to play board games with. However I put some time aside for myself to go to a local board game cafe to listen to music and take time to learn a new game. I was able to pull out a copy of Spirit Island, which I have been meaning to play forever but never got a chance as it seemed too intense for my group. But taking a couple of hours to teach myself and then get completely destroyed by the game was so satisfying. It really gets your brain burning in the best way possible with the sheer amount of things that could happen. Plus it is just a gorgeous game. Highly recommend it. Also been flirting with the idea of being taught games on Tabletop Simulator but interacting with strangers over voice chat is a terrifying concept haha

I've been playing Metroid: Samus Returns on 3DS off and on in preparation for Metroid: Dread. Picked up Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks both last week. Looking to start those soon.
I managed to get an order in for the Zelda & Loftwing amiibo today by some miracle.

I’ve been playing the PS1 version of Final Fantasy Five. Job grinding while listening to podcasts is fun! I especially like using Blue Mages. I’ve just entered the N-Zone, so I think I’m nearing the end of the game.

Psychonauts 2 is so god damn good. The writing, the art, the platforming. It's all A+.

I'm planning on playing Psychonauts 2 as soon as my sister finishes it. I'm glad to hear the game is fun.
Picked up No More Heroes 3 today. I've defeated the Rank 9 boss, Gold Joe. This game is exactly what I wanted in a No More Heroes sequel. The only thing is that I miss the Wii remote's speakers. Hearing Sylvia's phone calls through the television speakers just isn't the same.

oooooohhh mah gawd Psychonauts 2. I am only an hour or two in but it has been a fan-freaking-tastic experience so far. I spent far too much time giggling at having to wait for the bacon man to get my noodles ;__;

I finished Metroid: Samus Returns the other day and so I went back to New Pokemon Snap. It's still absolutely delightful to see the various animations. There was a Machamp flexing and posing on the beach and he's just living his best life, and then he gave me a big smile when I went past. What a pal.

cruetly squad. fun fps. people talk about it like the inscrutable uber hard meme game but mostly its core text isn't that hard to understand it's just deliberately very loud and unpleasant to look at and some of its mechanics aren't really explained, once you have an idea about how it works it's really just a pretty deep and satisfying tactical fps with some very freeform and dynamic movement options and inventive level designs
i've been playing caligula effect for my current rpg and it's a great game if you dont mind the fact that it's extremely terrible and even its really interesting writing can be randomly offset weirdly by bits like the hot springs dugneon where it makes groan worthy terrible jokes for like 30 minutes and none of it amounts to anything. the library is legitimately one of the worst dungeons i've ever seen in a jrpg, it's not like hard or anything but it's very long and half of it would be scrapped from any more reasonably designed game. the social system is worthless and there are only four enemy types, all of the bosses are just repeats of those same generic enemy types, often with very little fanfare or anything to make their attack patterns something you will put more thought into than the average chump battle. kamige have also started reading subarashiki hibi Last edited by The Colonel; 3rd September 2021 at 07:46 AM. |

Been playing the spiritual sequel to Konami Krazy Racers
In the sense that the game has an incongruous selection of playable characters, catchy music, a focus on items, simple courses repeated with slight variations in layout and visual effects (weather/time of day etc.), and if you drive well and use items thoughtfully you win - I am yet to get MK rubber-banded. I played it in an arcade a decade ago and didn't like it but my opinion has changed on console Also been playing Pokemon Picross on GBC which unbeknownst to me had not only been leaked but also fully translated |
