when I was looking through some bata screen shots one in the pause menu where in says return to lair anyway it looks like banjos hand in top left hand corner so mabey he lifts it up

First of all, that beta screenshot has been discussed more than a million times. Secondly, Banjo does not "lift" the option up.

The screenshot is a scan from a magazine. What you are seeing is part of another piece of artwork that was overlapping the screenshot.

Whoa... Beta Banjo's house is WAY better than the final version... it fits Banjo's style better.
