if you have a new 3DS su/mo USu/Umo work fine
I mean it works either way but the old 3DS runs an already pretty slow game slower otherwise I would just stick with Or/As its a damn fine pokemon game

It was a strange moment the first time I saw slowdown in a handheld Pokemon game. Felt like a sign something had gone wrong. That and long, boring cutscenes

Dunno who in their right mind decided to use the vastly inferior R/S trainer teams instead of the much better and upgraded Emerald trainer teams for the remakes.

I've ended up playing the Switch one as mentioned in the other thread. Did you guys play it/like it? I am taken aback by how English it is. I knew the towns were inspired by British cities, but I didn't expect all the buildings/environments/dialogues to be so English; I wasn't expecting the characters to say things like, "Cheers, nice one, mate!" like someone held up Game Freak and forced them to set the next game in the Wallace and Gromit universe. It was something of an unpleasant surprise
It's all right though. Easy to play, iPhone-easy interface. I know people made fun of the graphics when it came out but there are some nice outdoor environments. Would like to see a Pokemon I recognise other than Charizard though. |

I had my fun while going through it but I think I am done with it I completed the league and I am fine with that being the end for me

I put a ton of hours post-game doing Dynamax / Gigantamax raids hunting for various things, specifically shiny Hatterene (which I did not find), as well as hatching tons and tons of eggs for shiny Trubbish (which I did not find) after completing the Galar Dex and getting the shiny charm. I bought the DLC season pass and finished the Isle of Armor's little story, but haven't made a ton of progress in completing the DLC Dex.
I liked the story a lot in the main game's focus on the gym challenge (though some of the other story elements were definitely lacking) and there's a lot of really great new Pokemon designs. Team Yell was wasted potential, and the rival characters didn't get as much to do and grow as I'd have liked, but in general the new characters were fine. The music's a jam, though.

PKMN X/Y seems like the Twilight Princess of PKMN it feels like it should be a bigger deal than it was but it just didn’t pull it off as well as it wanted

This game is the most realistic video game depiction of England since The Getaway 2: Black Monday. In terms of environmental design at least - the characters do not use British vernacular correctly. I hope they never do this again though. When I was exploring the Desert Ruins or Island Cave in RSE, I wasn't thinking, "Really hope they design a location inspired by Harrogate train station in a future game. Hope they design a city based on Hull."
I did appreciate an NPC giving me an Eeevee because of my Let's Go save, very nice surprise. Yep |

I really liked Hop, actually. He was a little annoying but, avoiding spoilers, it gets turned down some later on and he kind of grows from there.
There's a post-champion story and the two characters you meet are ridiculous, though. I loved them only in a "so bad it's good" kind of way.

I think you mentioned it elsewhere in this thread or in another, but it's not so much the character that annoys me as the fact the game is so hand-holdy, and it uses the NPCs and cutscenes to constantly interrupt your exploration and make sure you understand everything and are going the right way. And yet despite all the hand-holding I still managed to have no idea what I was doing or what was going on in my first Dynamax battle in that first open area.
And is there a day and night cycle? I looked up how I could make this Eeevee into an Umbreon and it does still say evolve it at night, but it's been permanent daytime in my game. |

There's a day night cycle only in the Wild Area for now. When you go through the towns and routes during the story, it's story-based so you'll get to some towns at night and some during the day. Post-champion, everywhere will use day night cycle.
And yeah, it's definitely hand-holdy. Not as bad as Sun Moon and XY though, were.
