I got no beef with the vast majority of new stuff in the game. In fact, I've come to welcome the Tiki Tak Tribe into DKC's pantheon of ne'er-do-wells, and that's what most series fans seem to be having trouble with. But I rather dislike the fact that they aren't drawing inspiration from anything but the first game. There were tons of cool things in the second and third games, especially regarding the music, Retro could have mined for added nostalgia awesome but didn't.

Roughly ninety-six hours left, boys and girls! Let's savor the last few days of not having it with a good ole DKCR chat.
So... in the foggy factory stage, you can see the first stage of the original arcade game, girders, ladders, and all. Discuss.

Has anyone seen the commercial advertisements? I like how it uses live-action actors in it, reminds me of the good-ol days where you'd have these absolutely ridiculous commercials for games. (*cough* Mario Party Series *cough*)

Why are there commercials for such an obscure game?

IGN REVIEW:
8.0 Presentation Not quite up there with Metroid Prime in production values, but it's still a top notch first party effort. 9.0 Graphics A great 3D engine that gets more impressive the deeper you get. Excellent animation and wonderful environment effects. 9.0 Sound The original SNES game was known for its excellent jazz soundtrack, and all the excellent tunes have made a return. 9.0 Gameplay A really fun, really tough platformer that builds on the Super NES classic. You want a challenge? You're gonna get it here. 9.5 Lasting Appeal Good luck trying to beat this one 100% in your first week. Seriously, you may beat the game, but you won't finish it so quickly...

Sounds like there's only 100%, and not 101%.

In Crazy Carts, there is a jiggy between two mine cart rails. In between, there is a mole. If you jump on the mole, you leap onto the upper rail and miss the jiggy. You can neither bump into the mole nor outrun him, for you will die both ways. So, my question is this: how do you get that goddamned jiggy!?
