i made a game using a program called SGDK. It is called The RANAT Foundation. you can get it here. it's basically 1/2 way done and it has awesome music (composed by yours truly) so what do you think of it?

and sorry for the 500 downloads, but its convinient for me because 7zip compresses files waaaay better than winzip or winrar. saves time for uploading...on dial up.

Its still sightly in progress. but basically, the main character is named Robert Eelee (or just Bob) and he ends up in a jail cell guarded by GATOGS (Great Arrow Tribe of Green Smilies, explain later). so he gets out and finds out that he is blamed for the 15 missing RANAT (Red Arrow Nation of Awareness Tribe, tentative/forgot original) members. the goal is to rescue as many of them as possible, defeat the random GATOGS bosses with special RANAT tools like rockets, spring boots, rocket skateboards, rocket boots, and more. in the end he finds the leader, Midnite who is actually...(play full game and find out)

I don't get it. Most of the time, I just end up falling in some slime and it breaks the game. O.o

*slaps self* i probably should have mentioned how to run it...sorry

anyways, make sure you completely set up GameDev and extract everything with 7zip. then, (here's the easiest way), Start->(All) Programs->Scrolling Game Development Kit->Scrolling Game Development Kit. if it is the first time, a dialog box appears, click Yes to register .gdp files as SGDK files. when the main screen comes up File->Open. find the .gdp file for the game. then go to File-> make shortcut, type in the name fo the shortcut and press OK. an icon appears on the desktop and you just double click that to play.

tell me if these are confusing

to play, you use the arrow keys to move, up to jump, Z is use rockets, and X is to attack. the first screen, use arrow keys to select option(duh) and X to select it.

ive only got the first level completely done, but other wise you can go through the game and tell me what you think.

click Start->run then regedit.exe. click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\GameDev and delete the GameDev key. this should bring it back up.
