Mew and Ditto have the same shiny because they had the same pallet to begin with and Gen I-V's shinies were chosen via algorithm. It's a good theory though.

I went through all the old pokemon games that are compatible with HOME and basically emptied out the entire game team and all all those trainers dreams shattered so I can enjoy my pokemon

I pulled some spreadsheet templates people have set up for national dex completion- I got really into AlphaSapphire's AreaNav and DexNav when it came out and got decently far in completing the Pokedex (435ish of the 721 that existed at the time). Going through my own spreadsheet, it's really just ton of stuff I need to either breed or evolve. As far as Pokemon I don't have anything of in the evolution chain, there's actually only about 30. Most, such as Growlithe/Arcanine, I can get between my copies of Y, OR and AS. Some, like Houndour/Houndoom, are in X (which I don't have), but I can get from one of the past games like HGSS to trade up. There's only one line I can't get at all, Swirlix/Slurpuff, but a friend is going to trade me one, so that's cool. (I'd try the GTS but no one seems to be using it considering we're two generations passed this). I wish I could send stuff backwards because with my Galar dex being complete, there's a bunch of stuff I wouldn't mind sending back (such as Swirlix, haha). With Home having a bunch of glitches and errors, I don't know that I'd send everything to Home just yet. Maybe I'll send them from Bank to Moon/Ultra Moon and then finish Gen 7's dex.

I have a separate box that's got my teams (and other Pokemon I felt compelled to save) from each of the last generations that I've since set up, including one from waaaaaaay back with my original Sapphire run, featuring Colosseum Bonus Disk Jirachi (OT: WISHMKR) and my level 100 Sceptile I've loved for the last 18 years. They're all in AlphaSapphire and unless I get one of those Action Replay Power Saves and clone them, they're probably staying there- having that Sceptile sit in the remake of the game it came from feels special to me (plus they're not all available in Galar, so I don't want them to just sit there).

Its so strange these little bits of bits and bites have so much attached to them

like again the rare mew from a distribution cart just sitting on someone’s gameboy the user of which has long since moved past pokemon

I am in the process of shiny breeding thanks to the GTS and Wonder trade I can get other pokemon from other regions and that increases your chances of breeding a shiny by just a smidgen more...that alot of unwanted baby mons being sent back through wonder trade though

I remember someone here on the forums- GM2k, maybe? - was collecting distribution carts. I'd collect them if they weren't so expensive!! Some day I'd like to at least grab an Eon Ticket.

I took a break from breeding for a shiny Trubbish- three boxes of nothing. Maybe some day...

And props on the Stadium 2 progress, it really is a demanding campaign. I just today got some loose GB/GBA carts in the post, including a Silver with a new battery, so might have a go at Stadium 2 at a later date
