It's been a while since I splet. Salmon Run is fun though, so I'd love to play it if I ever get a day off of work.

Has anyone played We Happy Few yet? I am currently waiting for it to finish installing on my ps4.

I got a fun idea. Let's make Beefumbo's Journey real. I'll make an OoT randomizer seed with keysanity and tokensanity on, then we'll all have a thread here where we try to solve the game and make up nonsense lore about all the random shenanigans. I figure that'd be easier than setting up a race or a multiworld seed. Though I would like to try a multiworld seed.

We Happy Few changed a lot after it's alpha, and I'm pleased to announce it's still not very good!

We have to find each other's items basically. Each player has their own unique world to solve, but the items are distributed between all the players. So for example, if I'm Player 1 I might come across a chest which has Player 2's hookshot in it. When I pick it up it'll say "[Player 2] got the hookshot!", and then Player 2 will receive the hookshot in their game. Meanwhile, someone else might find an ice trap meant for me and then I'll spontaneously get frozen in my game.
It all works using Bizhawk scripts, so that means we can't play it using VC or N64 hardware. Also if anyone gives up then the game is potentially unwinnable for everyone else. It would be a pain in the ass to get everyone together at the same time to try a multiworld game, but I think if we have open Ganon and make items plentiful then there's a decent chance we could clear it.

Yeah, it's gonna be kinda difficult to find a time where all of us have several hours to spare on Zeld. Only day off I know I have so far is this Friday. Something simpler would be to just have one really hard seed which we all work together on and post item locations for. That would be easier since everyone can participate whenever they feel like it. Unless it turns out one of us is an uber OoT speedrunner and can clear it in a few hours.

I think I'll spare us from scubsanity at least. As it turns out, there's like a million secret deku scrub grottos all over the game and not even I know where some of them are. A few you even need Song of Storms to open. What baffles me is why some of these are hidden in such obscure ways when all they contained in vanilla was some jerk selling you bombs for three times their shop price. Skulltula tokens aren't as bad. The dungeon ones are usually easy, but some of the overworld tokens are a pain in the ass. I'll turn on Sun Song requirement for the overworld ones so they're less annoying.
I'll open a thread for the hard seed, and if we ever get our shit together we can maybe try multiworld some time.

Since my N64 has been getting so much use lately, I bought a GC style control stick to replace one of my broken ones. It seems alright for OoT so far. Definitely doesn't wear on my thumb as much as the OEM stick, but the range and sensitivity are way different. Knock the design of the N64 controller all you want, but the original N64 stick has the most precise range of any stick I've ever used.
Also I bundled it with a USB adapter, so it looks like I have to play Half-Life with an N64 controller now.

OEM stick is definitely better for FPS games. The GCN style stick is alright for OoT, Mario 64, and other platformer and adventure games since that means less wear on holding forward all the time. It's also easier to do the quickspin with the GCN one I have. There's a guy who makes steel N64 sticks, and I really want one of them. Problem is they're expensive, and he makes them himself so there's a massive waiting list and he's not taking anymore orders right now.
Set up my N64 controller in Half-Life with the Steam big picture controller thing. I mimicked the Goldeneye and Perfect Dark control scheme even down to holding R for analog aiming. It's pretty darn awkward to play, but it's playable. There's also no walk key, so it's really easy to fall off of shit. I'm trying to think of what other uses I could have for an N64 controller on PC considering how I already have an Everdrive.

I've been playing Yakuza 0. It's about an 80's video game man who can see real life porn stars from the future.
