Tooie Speedrunning Fail
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF9gbMvH3wE
Was speedrunning Tooie and ran across a wrong warp. Weird ass game. Anyone know how it happened? Last edited by BanjoRAWX1994; 20th January 2018 at 09:30 AM. |

Contact Cronikeys on YouTube. They're the best I know at this stuff.

Oh wow, what? I'm sorry, I skipped around the video a little bit and hadn't actually seen the part at the end.
I want to say this is a hoax for a couple of reasons, not the least of which being that upon finding such a room, I don't think it to be likely that anyone would save and quite without even exploring it. But I'll leave an open mind. If this is NOT a hoax, you've just discovered something major. This isn't something that has ever been found before, and the Banjo ROMs have been thoroughly searched many times. Subdrag, Coolboyman and others would want to know about this, if it's true. Also if it's a hoax I'd like to know how you did it, since I don't believe Banjo's Backpack lets you edit Tooie yet. |

I wasn't gonna admit this, but I totally turned on my N64 and tried to replicate everything I could, and got notta. That does not mean that this is impossible. I still easily could've missed some detail.
I noticed that in the video, when you first use talon-trotting and jumping and such, you get a little "ding" sound like you did something correct. This doesn't normally happen, and I dunno what triggers it. If I remember correctly, this normally happens after you use the gameshark code that gives you a 95% completed save file. I'll lean on hoax, but hey who knows. In either case, the use of tiled "developer texture" in that room is a plus. |
