we've actually been playing gsc a little again lately, so i like that you brought this up
i actually haven't played through fr/lg since 2004, but i do remember that a lot of the challenge was nerfed significantly from r/b butterfree learns silver wind late-game if you wanna try sticking with one, that seems like it'd be fun - i use butterfree a lot in rby runs lately and it feels really rewarding could always do a NUZLOCKE lol, it fits the era of pokemon perfectly

Yeah I might give that a go, I have the other GBA games so I can trade early, I love the games but it's more the idea of using the Gen 1 starters that bores me, might be cool going through the game with a Butterfree Porygon or Mr Mime or something
