Toad's Tool 64 0.3 Beta Released!

This is the Super Mario 64 editor that has been in the works for a while.
http://web.mac.com/qubedstudios/iWeb...Blog/Blog.html

You need to get a Super Mario 64 ROM, and then use his ROM Extender:
http://homepage.mac.com/qubedstudios/Mario64Tools.htm

The levels look really pretty in his editor, although I don't think it supports picking (clicking on an object and selecting it). On quick playing around I didn't manage to change anything around to another object, but it should allow users to make pretty simple but fun edits of levels. It's progress on the N64 front. Give it a whirl, he's done a lot of great things here.

This looks interesting I'll have to give it a whirl when I have some free time. Thanks for posting the info and links.

I've been trying it out the past few days (quick note: v0.3b has been released). It's pretty easy to use once you know where everything is.

Though, PJ64 refuses to run it and 1964 keeps freezing once I start it up (as in the emulator, not the backup).

EDIT:

It does, as I did it when I was first using it. Once I upgraded it to v0.3 I couldn't it again (though, I don't really know how I did it in the first place ).

Aww, I wanted to make the topic about this.

Anyways, once you're done with the whole "move stuff around to cause glitches" stage, you can really make some good level challenges. I've changed most of the goals in Bob-omb Battlefield completely.

Toad's Tool 64 0.3 Beta Released!

VL-Tone, the legendary Super Mario 64 hacker has released a beta version of Toad's Tool 64, his Macromedia Flash-based Mario 64 level editor! I myself haven't tried it out, I was very busy at the time I was informed about its release. I will try it as soon as I can, but you can download it at VL-Tone's official blog.

Will the extender work on the Super Mario 64 Shindou Edition ROM? It's the only one I have...

Try it and see what happens. I don't think it will though...

>_> Does anybody have the file sizes on the extender and the program itself?

Toad's Tool is roughly 7MB [compressed] (It's like 6.7MB but I like rounding). The extender program is 2.5MB [compressed]. They're not too large altogether, unless you've got a modem.

If the reason you're asking this is because you've got a slow downlaod speed, I can pack both of them into a single *.7zip file (it does über file compression) and ship 'em to 'ya.

Oops, you already posted this, Subdrag? Sorry, I didn't see it.
And not to be mean or anything, but you can download about 10MB over dial-up, can't you, kyledude? I'm not sure if I'm just weird or something, but I've download 30MB files over dial-up before.

Yeah, but it takes like two hours, and I only get 20 hours per month. I'm already an hour over.

You might have to go to the library and download this one. Bring a usb stick or something like that, if they have can support it, or a disc or span disks or something.

Unless Zeek follows through on his offer... I can spare a few minutes. I'll probably end up needing the NTSC ROM anyways, and I can't find one. >_<
