The meaning of the 'Advent' Track

A lot of us know the Advent track as the beta Fungus Forest level soundtrack which was unfinished, I see this is unlikely.

0035 RBB - In machine room - (Ship inside)
0036 All 100 notes - (100 notes)
0037 Door opening?? - (Door Open)
0038 MMM - Church door closing - (Organ sequence)
0039 Beta Song DK-esque - (Advent)
003A FP - Race - (Slalom)
003B FP - Race Winner - (Race win)
003C FP - Race Loser - (Race lose)
003D Jiggy Appearance - (Jigsaw magic)
003E Beta Sound - (Oh dear)

This is the order of each sound in BK. The Advent is in bold. Surrounding it are quite a lot of sounds unlocking things. (Thanks to runehero123 for bringing this to my attention)

Which brings me to the conclusion, thats it's more likely to be soundtrack to something UNLOCKING something.

Look at the name. 'Advent'. What in Banjo Kazooie has something related to the word Advent?

The only thing that comes to mind is the Advent Calender (Where the entrance to Freezeezy Peak is)

So... Somehow you find a way to unlock one of the little bozes in the advent calender, and that music will play. It's barely a minute long so it makes sense.

So:
It is NOT Fungus Forest

(PS a lot of this research was done by runehero123, i just think this needed a thread, and that he is definately right)

(I am researching the advent calander. There doesn't SEEM to be another opening in it. But this could be just like the barrel with the cyantine egg in it, it's utterly black until you unlock it.)

I've also just noticed something cool. The picture of Banjo Kazooie in boggys igloo, is the background to the advent calander. How awesome ^^

yea i agree with most of that.
i htink it might have been used to just unlock fungus forest which would have been considered a secret level.
also in a beta video of e3 1998 they showed the music being used in clanker's cavern with clanker being a shark.
so im pretty sure they would have used the fungi forest track from that.
so there is also a possibility that Clanker might have been considered for Shark in Fungi Forest

But thats just my opinion.

I want to investigate this further but need help. I've no idea on how to look at the raw text of the game. Can someone tell me the things needed?

I just think it was the beta tune for unlocking a world in general. Don't think it's related to the advent calendar at all.

Both Fungus Forest, and Mount Fire eyes would not have been secret levels. I don't get why people just automatically assume this because the level was taken out of the final version.

Runehero, all i said was you brought the whole unlocking thing to my attention. THat was my theory. And i believe too that none of the beta levels are the levels of unlocking.

It was actually described by Rare as the music used for a map / game select screen in Project Dream. This is 100% and Im sure you can find it on one of the old scribes on the site

Yes Rare said this on Scribes.But why Advent STILL EXIST in PAL version?

Because the NTSC and PAL versions of Banjo are identical because they were released so close together (all they did for the PAL version was add 3 extra languages) however with the PAL release of Tooie we got it in the UK 5/6 months after the US so they had time to tidy the code up a little.

Also, just because its PAL doesnt mean that it will be missing code as PAL code sometimes holds more information than what the NTSC version does because we do sometimes get releases before the rest of the world!

Although, in the case of Tooie (the australian PAL release) - does anyone know if that one still had the base egg etc...

Base Egg exist only in NTSC version.Nobody found it in PAL version.
But some stuffs like BR and RSA still exist in PAL version too.
Rare removed useless stuffs from PAL like Seagull Song,Heggy's glitch.
They didn't remove Advent in PAL BK and BR,RSA,GC,TR,Challenge 16 in PAL BT.

The tracks, made by Kirkhope, are made in random order, so it COULD be a beta track for a Forest level. He just composes on what he feels like composing at that time. I did the same with Mumbo's Wand, I started with like, the last track, then did the first, then somewhere in the middle. There are few composers who actually compose the tracks in the same order they'll appear in the game. This track just was made before he started on the Freezeezy Peak's Sled Race music. It doesn't have to prove anything. It's just like how Rusty Bucket Interior music was apparently made before FP's Race music, while we all raced boggy before we even knew RBB existed.
