I had an Aron in Ruby with a different coloured eye. Thought it was female, so I caught a blue eyed one after so I'd have both. And then there were no more red eyed ones, and I realized my "RedEye" was special.

My first was using hacks on Pokémon Platinum. I forced every encounter to be Alakazam so that I could train Sp. Att. EVs off of them, but I didn't force the shininess or anything else about it. Ended up with a lvl 6 Modest shiny Alakazam. Caught in the patch of grass you normally get Ponyta in.


After that I found a shiny Shuckle in Silver version, which is really rare because you only find them with a low% chance smashing rocks above Cianwood. I did not catch it, it fainted and I was very sad.


Then I found shiny Seaking in Soul Silver, in the pool of water below Mt. Silver. This time, I was in kind of a weird mood at that moment combined with the surprise of finding a shiny. I did a very evil thing and INTENTIONALLY ran away from the shiny Seaking. It was supposed to be me testing my own character, or something. There's nothing special about being rare, I told myself, I'll just run away, to show myself how cool and uncaring I am about this. Waaaay too cool for shinies, yo.


Then I found a shiny Zubat in Emerald. It was in the exact small cave you find Bagon in. I caught Bagon then it showed up like 1 tile before I left the room and I caught it.


Last that I can remember, I got the coveted shiny Pumpkaboo in X and Y while trying to find one of the giant size. It was small size and I think it had a bad nature but it looked utterly fabuous.


I have weird luck.

I found a shiny Ditto when I had ABSOLUTELY NO pokeballs in SS the beautifly was in Alpha saphire I had not found any legit shiny up until then I have better luck on GO though most are from special event months/ days so IDK if they count if they don’t then my first legit shiny one there was a hatched Aerodactyle

My favorite part of every failed Nuzlocke run I do is naming the pokemon that will give their lives to fulfill my vision.

As a kid I was a vanilla purist tho. If Ash didn't nickname his pokemon then damn if I would. In hindsight it was a strange choice. Tho I have seriously considered eventually getting a dog called "The Dog"

Aye once I made the switch it just made sense. That Lapras is MY Larpass, totally different from anyone else's. Really should give HG/SS a go at some point, see if my attention span can handle Pokemon at all haha

My copies of Gold, Silver, and Blue as well as the two transfer packs and a GBC arrived today. The journey to 251 now begins properly. I wish I could have used my original copy of Gold and Red, but I believe I may have given them away to a younger cousin along with my Gameboy years ago. The Silver cartridge I got has the name "Stefan Howansky" neatly written in marker on the back. Of course the save battery has been long since dead and replaced so unfortunately I have no record of Stefan's childhood adventures.
I plan to not use any glitches outside of the ones required to obtain Mew and Celebi, although they technically aren't required for the pokedex diploma. I'll post occasional status updates from my N64 capture card.
