Banjo-Kazooie Dummies?

Hey!
Ive been reading alot on how alot of people including myself noticed the banjo& Kazooie dummy in the vehicles when theyre not in use. I think its just a reference, so you know where they sit while your customizing your vehicle?
But thats just my idea!
Post some of your ideas too!

Maybe they are some form of club? Like they keep the steering wheel locked in place?
Maybe enemies can hijack your vehicles...

Here's my idea:

Looks to me like it's there to trick potential thieves into believing somone is in the car. If that's the case, then it is a somewhat-large part of the game, but not a big deal; it's just something kinda funny that's part of the game.

Yeah, but it could add extra to the game. For example, if you park far away from them, they won't hijack the car, because they'll see two people sitting in it. However, it you park closer to them, they might notice that it's just a dummy, and they would steal it.

I think it's to mark what your last used vehicle was. Ken said that there are various vehicles scattered around the level.

I suppose if you can use them in multiplayer made if you jump out of the vehicle, your opponent may be still chasing you thinking that you're still in it while you get away. But I think the hijacking thing is most likely.
