Next stop, Showdown Town!

Possible route to Showdown Town?
It seems like it leads to a dead end, but you could always fall into the bottom of the waterfall?
Then theres a route coming out of the waterfalls base, so that how you'd climb out and back to the Homeland?
Its just my idea.

And I can seem to recall them saying you go DOWN, not UP.

Yes but what goes UP must come DOWN.
You could very easily climb up that slope, only to fall down the steeper one on the other side, I could see Rare doing that to us!
But it does look like a dead end, maybe there's a passage behind that boulder... But I don't really see Fat Banjo dragging move-less Kazooie up that slope.
Oh god being Fat Banjo at the start of the game is going to be horrible!
Just like being drunk Conker at the start of BFD, I don't think they'll force you to stay like that for very long...

LOG transports them to ST. Magically. Then to return they need sticky wheels to get back to SM

Are you talking about the comment from the video? He said he took the long way up the hill in showdown town to log because he didn't have sticky tires, then later when you beat grunty, you get sticky tires and can go up the other side of the hill. I don't think he ever said anything about going back to spiral mountain.

Rare said in an interview that when you enter showdown town you fall down a steep slope that you can't get back up until you have the sticky tires.

The source of the waterfall is a cavern, but it's definitely not the entrance to Showdown Town. You don't enter the new overworld via caverns, you enter by sliding down a steep slope. As for the path that seems to be heading up to the side of the mountain, I believe it's for scenery purposes.

You might, the exit to the cavern could be atop a steep slope. Sort of like it is on the Spiral Mountain side... Not too hard to imagine!
