Well, I welcome the news that there's new content, and if the challenges aren't all bland races or fetch-this quests I might be interested.

If it's the same variety of tedium that makes up a good 70-80% of N&B then they can count me out.

I doubt they'll throw in any new platforming sections. It would be nice, but it's unlikely.

The lost challenges may not even be set in a whole new world, they might just be challenges from other worlds that didn't make the final cut.

It sounds like Shiner's last paragraph is likely, which kind of sucks.

But, after looking at the L.O.Go (lol c wut i did thar?), I'm sort of expecting an Aztec-y, dessert style world. That's probably because I've been looking at Halo 3's new Sandbox map.

I'm imagining a unique level for all the new challenges, but under the same theme. I don't expect it to look good, I expect it to be about the gameplay (Mirror's Edge DLC, anyone?).

And hopefully more thought has been put into these challenges, if I see a single one of those green, circular checkpoint gates, I will scream.

Why'd it have to be challenges? Those are like the weakest point of the game.

I'm likely end up getting it no matter, but I still hope there's some more extra goodies. (Yeah, GOODIES)

This should be a hint for anyone thinking banjo was going to be left for dead due to the dissapointing sales of NaB. This should be proof that Rare plans to continue supporting not only NaB as a game, but Banjo as a franchise.

He's not going anywhere.

They are probably expanding the vehicle franchise more, just to piss off the hardcore gamers. Now don't get me wrong Bottles, just because I post here doesn't mean I'm gonna turn it into a 'GTFO NAB-thread'.

The logo that comes with this announcement shows a 'Golden LOG', just like the Collect-a-thon achievement... PLATFORMINGS?! Probably not, just in Klungo's Arcade.

I hope he brings in a new cutscene. You know what I'd like to see...*

If you want to be cynical you could also say that it's Rare saying:

"Damn, we didn't sell enough copies. Let's slap out a few bits of downloadable tat to milk the last bit of money out of the few people who bought the game."

Of course that's only if you're being cynical.

I'm not going accept this as proof that they are going to continue supporting the franchise. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. However, if they do continue to support it, I can pretty much accept this as a sad confirmation that they'll be supportng it as a vehicle-based Banjo game.

They haven't ruled out more platforming as a DLC feature in the future, so I'm keeping my overly optmisitc fingers crossed very tightly. The best way to it IMO would be to introduce a new world where both platforming and vehicles are used together. Or perhaps add platforming sectons to previous worlds. I think that would beef up the game nicely, and help make worlds seem less sparse and lifeless.

Agreed wtth Doorstop. I wish the DLC wasn't foccussed on challenges. Like I said however, if the challenges are unique and fun then I may be interested. If they're racing through rubbish green hoops then they can forget it. Whoever decided that trundling mindlessly through rings - one of the blandest videogame concepts - would be a fun way to spend 50% of the game needs to be punished.

A never want to see another hoop again. N&B made me sick of them.

Rant over.

It seemed to work pretty well in Superman 64.

I hope we get more water-themed challenges. Boats controlled the best IMO, and there was a severe lack of challenges requiring you to build any when compared to land and air challenges.

What the hell ? I wasn't starting anything, and I wasn't being cynical. All I was saying is that some of you were worried that NaBs sales would lead to the death of Banjo as a franchise.

This clearly shows that Rare wants to continue and is still interested in Banjo, my statement had nothing to do with them continuing banjo as a vehicle based game, it was just stating that he isnt going anywhere as a character.

Don't Bring Your Kids to Work Day?

Wild West World?

A new world with a bunch of new challenges?

New challenges in existing worlds?

The possibilities are endless.
