Banjo Tooie XBLA Music Bugs - Now With Examples! Yay!

tl;dr - Music go all wonky. https://youtu.be/hNmUcHv6at8

I really like the XBLA port of Banjo Tooie, but the fact that it has some music bugs doesn't seem very well known. The RWP Wiki mentions the bugs, and apart from a post on reddit I couldn't find any discussion on it. So to spark some awareness, I recently made a YouTube video comparing the XBLA music to the N64 music. Video link!

Listen for the missing vibrato (wobblyness of the sound) on some instruments, and how some notes are an octave lower than they should be.

Hopefully these bugs, along with the music sync issues in the opening cutscene, are already fixed for Rare Replay. If not, maybe the video will help show some demand. I've linked the video to Rare over twitter and facebook, fingers crossed they'll confirm a fix.

I seem to recall that Kirkhope complained about some music bugs in Mad Monster Mansion, as well.

I hope that all games will be fixed. Perfect Dark Zero had some weird bugs as well.

Interesting, I'll look into that! The only one I know of is the piano puzzle with Motzand - the piano keys on N64 play different notes (I believe it matches the currently playing MIDI note?), while on XBLA all keys play the same one note.

The differences in that video don't bother me at all. The ones that bother me are the motzand playing the same note and the tooie cutscenr music being horribly out of sync.

The XBLA crew didn't pay the park royalties for the music, so Gruntilda gave them the messed-up version.
