Wii Homebrew
Who here has their Wii homebrewed? I think it's a great thing to have on the Wii.
Having Emulators are always a plus and probably my favorite thing about homebrew. ITT: Discuss Wii homebrew and your favorite things about it.

Why can't they just release a game shark for the Wii?

I think I got the update which blocks the homebrew channel. Is it still possible for me to get it?

Homebrew is the only use I get out of my Wii. Even still, it collects dust.

I feel like an idiot, but what is Homebrew?
The last time I updated my Wii with no Wi-Fi was, I believe, in August, when I tried to play The Conduit. What does Homebrew do? Someone mentioned Game Shark. Is that what it basically is? |

Homebrew is home-made software, basically. By installing the Homebrew Channel, you can gain access to things like a DVD Player or emulators. Gecko OS contains a Game Shark-like program that allows you to hack games without having to actually buy a hacking device.

You don't need Wi-fi to get homebrew, just a SD card

You can still do pretty much everything with Wii homebrew without Wi-fi, you just don't get to update the Homebrew Channel through the auto updater. You would just need to install the newer channel the same was you have to the first time

So, how do you install it? The only things I have saved on my SD card is photos from ACCF and SSBB.

Hmm. If I had the ability to download the program(s), I so would. I already have a SD card reader for our computer, I think, but my parents wouldn't allow me to download anything, unless we take EVERYTHIING off, then reinstall, so it will be faster. MAYBE THEN I could do it.
Can someone tell me the benefited features of Homebrew? |
