standing blindly and and just throwing your money to a company just because you have a devotion to that character, that does not encourage the sonic team to innovate and actually create a good game, just buying a game plainly because sonic is in it is what encourages these people to come up with such stupid ideas.

Sonic having a sword is stupid. Sonic does not use a sword, sega keeps trying to bring sonic back by giving him all these off the wall concepts, werewolf, guns, now a sword ? Why dont you try....oh...iono, returning to what made people like sonic in the first place, instead of trying all this random crap.


but theres no point in saying anything against sonic here, that would be blasphemy, theres too many fanboys waiting with open wallets to buy sonic the hedgehog's "get raped by a mastadon" simulator.

i know what some of you might argue. You might say, "but joe, nuts and bolts is a huge departure from the original games, and thats turning out great, your a hyprocrite!"

Well, thats because this game is still fundamentally the same, its still platforming, but on a larger scale, while giving sonic a sword and making it a swashbuckling game completely changes the game, its no longer about speed and platforming, which completely abandons what makes sonic sonic, and its just standard cookie-cutter crap that could of used any other character, it doesn't need sonic. Also, the banjo games have all been good, it wouldnt be so hard to accept such an absurd sonic concept if the sonic team had managed to pump out a good game under the sonic name in the last 8 years.

Start making good sonic games, and i'll start being more open to such idiotic ideas.

I agree with joesus. You can like a series you've loved for a while, but if you can see that that series is going completely downhill, you shouldn't continue to give the makers money. That'll just allow them to make more crappy games.

if they made mario gta where mario was a criminal, peach was his ho and bowser was the head of an enemy gang and in the opening cutscene luigi got killed violently by a canibal toad who went on to violently eat his body... wait that was kinda off topic/disturbing

Every Sonic game is almost bound to fail now adays. But if they really (and I mean REALLY) polish this game and make sure the game play is flawless this time, I might think about getting it.

One picture really can't make me judge this game, so I'll have to wait for more information. Though, Sonic with a sword doesn't strike my interest that much...

At least we only get 1 or 2 real Mario games per gen, and a whole bunch of spin offs. Sega should really just take like a 2 year break.

jeez just because he has a sword doesn't mean the gameplay has to change maybe he just uses the sword for boss fights and in the rest of the game the sword just hits enemies when he jumps. o and btw sonic rush was good so shut up!

I think they should make a 3D Sonic based on his appearance in Brawl - still retaining some of his most recent personality, but more towards his early days (Like the way his legs move when he runs, his "Oh no I'm falling off a ledge" balancing pose and very little dialogue.). And Sonic gameplay, of course.

He still does the "falling off the edge" animation in some of the 3D Sonic games. It isn't enough to save them wholly, though .
