No. Just... No. Canonically, Sonic HATES using weapons. (He even says so in Shadow the Hedgehog.)

The sword better be something he only uses at the END. Not necessarily by choice, either.

Hmm well swords > guns and its not as though he hasn't used one before *points to the Adventures of Sonic cartoon special and Archie Sonic Comics*

They wouldn't have gotten past without Sega's approaval

You can reason for Sonic usng a sword but not for Shadow using a gun...

And it'll obviously be used throughout the game, its in the first bloody press release art! *lols at user*

Swords DO > Guns.

I've never seen Sonic use weapons in Archie....

Shadow is not Sonic. Shadow has never had a dislike for weapons that is CANON.

And that "lol" was uncalled for.

Seriously, Sonic needs to end. Why not just make a classic platformer? Adding swords and beasts just does not fit in with the series.

It's beginning to sound better than Unleashed already [mainly the gimped on rails Wii version], now if this isn't on rails than the Wii will have its first non-rails Sonic game - yayzors!
