I spent a couple hours playing No Man's Sky in VR last night. It's definitely more fun that way. There's something viscerally fun about aiming at the rocks to shoot them.
The only negatives are that base building is finicky with motion controls, and that turning smooth motion on to actually run around the world makes me sick. |

Randomly started playing The Sims 4 yesterday and got hooked on it.
Charles Watanabe is a former football player turned criminal, who is trying to find his fortune through theft. Unfortunately for him, his girlfriend's career as a freelance writer totally outdoes him in income. He's still in it for the thrill of the steal but he's reconsidering his life choices. |

Does CFW let you play PS1/2 games without region lock? Because if so I think I'm finally ready to get on board with it. Could get rid of my modded PS1/2 then.

I should probably just mod the PS2 and sell the PS1 then. It just would have been nice to have a one-stop shop PS1-3
I have an actual PS2-compatible PS3 but the video card on it is busted. |

So I played 2 rounds of Fortnite yesterday because I wanted to visit the returned Prison before it disappeared, and boy did it disappear. This black hole thing is wild.

i've been slowly trying to work through my Switch backlog.- I finished Yoshi's Crafted World the other day- not 100% but I did find all the hidden flowers in each level as well as all the Poochy Pups under the respective time limits. Finished the four secret levels as well with all flowers. It was a solid game. I also finished Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It was fun! Symphony of the Night in everything but name.
Now I'm trying to finish the Crash trilogy- I already finished the first game so I'm about halfway through 2. After 3 maybe I'll go back and finish Xenoblade Chronicles 2...

I insisted that today would be the day I'd put custom firmware on my PS3, only to realize I already did. So now I'm playing my Japanese copy of Parappa the Rapper

Just finished Windwaker HD. Only pictograph I'm missing? Stupid Red Wizrobe, who I absolutely took at least 3 pictures of, but they all counted some other random enemy in that mini-boss room. Now I have replay like 80% of the game just for one pictograph...

How was it?
Today, I finished playing Star Fox Zero. I had played through most of the game about a month ago, but never finished the last two missions. It was pretty short, so I'm glad I only paid $10 for it. I thought it was fun though. The cockpit aiming could have used some work, but I enjoyed the game overall. I think I'll pick up the rest of the series when I can.

If you like "classic 2D point-and-click adventure" games (a la Beneath a Steel Sky, the early Monkey Island games, other similar titles from early-mid 90s Sierra and LucasArts, etc), you don't mind doing logic puzzles, and you like the idea of exploring the nooks and crannies of a monolithically vast, rusted industrialscape, then it is very good.

I do not recommend trying to 100% Spyro 2, unless you just really really want to. Some of the backtracking is tedious and requires you to complete whole levels again, only this time with the right ability available to you.

lol maybe I'm biased because I've beaten every game in the OG Spyro trilogy multiple times and am just about finished with 100%ing the Reignited Trilogy, but I never had an issue with the second game's backtracking. Aside from the Alchemist mission (where you have to escort the alchemist AGAIN to do Hunter's mission if you did it before you got the headbash), the OG trilogy cuts down on a lot of the bullshit that plagued other 3d platformers. As far as I can recall in the case of most levels you can just run right to where you last left off if you need to return later on. I did rage quit for a bit after the Reignited Trilogy erased 10% off my Spyro 2 save and made me replay basically all of Winter Tundra, though.
Most of all though Tooie and DK64 really made me appreciate how they didn't go for making the levels ten times bigger than necessary for the Spyro sequels cause goddamn I really don't have the patience for navigating Grunty Industries or Crystal Caves as an adult.
