This is the best OP.

Also, Kanbaru is a very cool super-armed lesbian, and Sengoku a cute.

Please watch this show, so that we can talk about the bizarre shit and surreal environments and amazing dialog.

I'm soon going to have time to start watching animes. I guess I like Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh!, the Studio Ghibli films (if they count as anime) and I've watched a little bit of Sword Art Online but not much else. Any you guys can suggest for a noob like myself?

Without much idea of what it is you're looking for, Cowboy Bebop is a really cool, very episodic and nicely animated science fiction space western thing.

Tengen Toppa: Gurren Lagann is a really fun, incredibly well-animated and much more serialized super giant mecha story set in a strange post-apocalyptic world, and slowly increases the scale of the fights as it goes on.

The last I can recommend for anyone just off the top of my head is Kyousougiga, which has really beautiful art direction and a very strange, but ultimately heartwarming story about a family reunion in a world drawn by a monk with the power to make his artwork come to life.

And yeah, Studio Ghibli films are animated films drawn in Japan.

How come Kiba's dog Akamaru can't talk, but Pakkun who's Kakashi's dog leader can?.
I mean Kiba seems to understand Akamaru's thoughts. But its not like it can talk in terms of spoken language.

Just wondering what you guys think.

Highly recommend FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's simply hard to dislike- Excellent pacing, animation, great characters and story. It's overall pretty brilliant and a great entry into anime stuff.

Will second Gurren Lagann and Cowboy Bebop as well.

Would not recommend continuing Sword Art Online, it manages to be actively awful for a number of reasons imo. The premise is good and it looks really pretty, which is probably why it's so popular, but just about everything else about it is awful, with poor pacing and a terrible protagonist, among many other things.

Interesting to hear your point of view on Sword Art Online. I'll definitely give all those recommended to me a try when I get the opportunity.

Nisemonogatari is interesting. Both as an anime, and as a test of your ability to tolerate, or even enjoy super gratuitous fanservice.

Spoiler: (highlight to view)
Anyway, I'm glad Koyomi's learned a valuable lesson.

Episode four of Nisemonogatari. I guess I should have expected this to happen sooner or later. I'm putting all the blame on Nills.

I think I'm gonna hold back on more One Piece for now so I can focus on Gatchaman Crowds (episode 7) and Hunter x Hunter (episode 18). I haven't felt so anime in a long time.

I got through Nisemonogatari, and I'm willing to declare Kanbaru Suruga, Kaiki Deishu and a tie between Karen and Tsukihi Araragi for the top three Monogataris. Now I'm two episodes into the Monogatari OVA where Koyomi's glasses-wearing friend turns into a murderous cat girl. I forgive you, Nills.

Also, I started watching Yuru Yuri, and I'm proud to confirm that it does in fact contain small traces of Yuri. Also, I've started watching the second season of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and I highly recommend it.
