I think fox will try his best to make an appearence in the next few days due to the discovery. But for now there's only 3 of us left to hack out sns.
We really do need more members. |

There's really not enough good hackers on this forum, I for one fail miserably at it. Maybe sub or ice should join in and help? They are pretty accomplished in the field and after all it is there forum.

I've been trying to learn, but school just totally takes me out of the picture. Honestly good hackers are hard to come by on any forum, we need to look for new members to the TB forums.

If I recall, Nintendo didn't allow sns to become finished because it could potentially damage the Rambus memory in a failed swop. But sense they have a patten on it, that must of meant that sns was tested and came out successful. So, if Rare got it to work then there is still a chance that data to "stop 'n' swop" is still in either BK or DK64. But, Nintendo didn't like the idea of hot or cold swoping. If a lock on cartridge was developed, unlicensed products could be attached to the cartridge in order to cancel out the lock out chip in the N64, not to mention that it would raise costs for cartridge production. If the idea of ripping out the game and putting in another was used, well, that could cause many unwanted problems. So Nintendo gave the thumbs down. "But, what about the test?" you ask? Well, at some point Rare had tested it and it worked. But it also brought problems, the Rambus memory could be corrupted in a bad swop. So to make sure there wasn't any compliants, Nintendo had Rare remove the program.
But there is hope! That last part might not be true, the test data may still exist. If Rare was as lazy as they always were then they never removed the actual link between BK and DK64. So it may be possible to actually change something in DK64 from BK legally! We just don't know how, when, or even what to look for. It could be just one small value changed even. An interesting theroy, don't you think?
