Mount Fire Eyes Theory: A Game of Wordplay
This isn't a theory about how "Mount Fire Eyes is in B-K", or "I found Mount Fire Eyes by beating the game 10000000 times". Rather, it's based on information I've gathered. I'll keep it in a logical order and concise.
I mean to disprove the fact that Mount Fire Eyes is only the fire side of Hailfire Peaks. Instead I mean to prove that it is all of Hailfire Peaks. A. Gobi's Comment in Click Clock Wood In Banjo-Kazooie, Gobi says he's had enough of getting beat up by the bear-and-bird for water, and tells them he's going to "Mount Fire Eyes". This establishes the area as some place outside of Click Clock Wood. As it isn't in Banjo-Kazooie, and Rare had expressed plans to make a sequel (as shown by the credits and Stop 'N' Swop), Mount Fire Eyes was planned for this next game. He actually goes to "Lava World". I guess this is what they were calling the Fire Side of Hailfire Peaks initially. Doesn't disprove anything else stated, so read the struckout text if you want. B. Hailfire Peaks Now, as we all know, Banjo-Tooie never featured the infamous "Mount Fire Eyes". Instead, it featured Hailfire Peaks, which had a fire side where Gobi was found. So the "Mount Fire Eyes" Gobi went to was the fire side of Hailfire Peaks. That is what current accepted information and theories support. C. The Wordplay of "Mount Fire Eyes" Mount Fire Eyes is simply wordplay. Since it became Hailfire Peaks, this is very easy to prove. Hailfire Peaks is two Mountains. It also has a Fire side and an ice side. Not getting the wordplay? Ice sounds like Eyes. Thus, if you say it out loud, it sounds like you're saying "Mount Fire Ice". This leads me to believe Mount Fire Eyes was an early name for Hailfire Peaks. Since names change a lot in development ("Hammer Head Beach" to "Treasure Trove Cove", and a giant to a witch) this point is supported. So, to recap, Gobi mentions a "Mount Fire Eyes" in Banjo-Kazooie. The name mentions fire and ice using wordplay. Banjo-Tooie is made, the name changes to "Hailfire Peaks" but the "Fire/Ice" theme remains. Gobi is found in the fire side, thus tying all the information together. Anyway, make what you will of it, but it all makes sense to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Last edited by Armada; 28th February 2009 at 08:57 PM. |

Gobi is in CCW?
Sorry, it's been so long....... Awesome theory, but what about the "fiery eyes" all over Gruntilda's lair. Everyone told me that it was connected to Mt. fire eyes. Something about the final level in B-K.

By the big flower. You have to water it to get a Jiggy.
EDIT: You have to Beak Bust him again to make him spit water on it. In summer, I believe. Thought I'd elaborate more. Last edited by Armada; 28th February 2009 at 07:47 PM. |

He stays near to that giant flower you grow after throwing five eggs into a small hole on the ground. You can only see him in Summer and Falls.

Whoops. That's my bad. But you're right that it doesn't discredit the rest. I'll change that.
