I dont know why...but we seem to be lacking level merge values for BT. Anyone experienced at hacking want to help Steve hack them out? We need to get some for DK64 as well.

Lol, I could understand that oddly, anyways I had time to look at the save state in memory. All I can say is that is one big file. Where do you find the scene data within the save state?

cant remember i did it a long long time ago, when i first came to the site to give people a more advanced view of hacking with hex editors like Hexworkshop and goldfinger.

Yes thats a merge of Banjo's House and pine grove, and i belive it was.

[xxxx] - for background
[##] - for cosmetic
[01] - for range (not too sure about this)

and the slowness, lag, freezing. thats because of my Pj64, and not the hack, if i would have done it on my laptop it would have been t3h fast or something.

i just need to find a suitable room first.

Banjo's House would run fine, but it wouldnt be big enough, Cloud Cave would work, but it might not be small enough.

And Gruntilda's lair runs even slower. (witchyworld maps wont work either, it runs slower..... much slower).

I'll Either use Pine grove again, or i'll find a smaller but more functional map.


I dont want to work on one game at a time, i want to focus on all 3 games hacking at the same time.

that would work fine.

Hmm, DK's probably one of the most important, BT as well. I think we found all the background addresses in BK though.

Note: WOw im messing around with your save state, just deleting parts of the code, starting from the end. Lol, banjo falls through the ground when he gets hit now. , Ill keep looking for it in BT. BUt yah, we should divise a plan for DK as well.

^thats possibly a side effect from a fall/walk through walls/press D-up to levitate code that was in use at the time, try pressing D-up, its part of coolboyman's memory editor moonjump method.

speaking of CBM im hacking all of his eggs to test my haxxing.

Your going to try to replicate his eggs? Anyways Ive come across a digit that seems to make your game freeze, probably nothing special but im messing around with it anyways.

I managed to replicate his eggs, i timed myself, i did it in 6min.

6min. for 6 eggs.

6 eggs in JV
one stop N Swop menu in bt.

but lets not go down that road.

While you were replicating coolboyman, I was trying to replicate your scene mod in Banjo Tooie. I searched for 0154 which is the scene digit for pine grove in Banjo tooie. It gave me about 20 results. Can you remember if you did it another way?

P.S. Nice job on the AFJ!

ey, im new but before i registered i read all fo the 56 pages of the topic and i must say, im very impressed with what you all have done here, you all have shown a wonderful dedication to a set of video games, i would like to join the twilight brigade to share with you what knowledge i have of the games, im not too good at hacking but i know how to use gs codes

i have
Banjo-Kazooie 1.1 or 1.0 i unno for sure (ROM) (PAL)
Banjo-Kazooie i think 1.1 might be 1.0 (ROM) (NTSC)
Banjo-Tooie (ROM) (NTSC)
Donkey Kong 64 (ROM) (NTSC)
and i only got gameshark on my PJ64 Emulator

and i have some intresting theories on banjo-tooie

i'd say i found the address in Hexworkshop, and there was.

[xxxx] [xxxx] [xxxx] [xxxx]

and i changed it into a different value, then i loaded the savestate and pressed the D pad to go underthe ground, so i'd land on the table, and see that the cartriges on the table were just BT carts, no BK or DK carts, then i swam out and deactivated the code and made a savestate.

The april fools joke took me a long time to hack.

you change the extension sections of BK so in BK it reads like BT, and you set the 8MB plugin on, then you hack the loads of the BK/BT file so it reads the last set of loaded portions, then you load something from BT and close the rom, then you load up BK and swap the BK/BT file on, and since that house is the last thing i loaded i appeared in the house with the SNS menu on.

If you unpause you go to BT
If you restore you go to BK

If DK64 reads like that i could do a nice AFJ using the portion of the ice key.

lol, i think most of the DK64 codes were ASM'd so then maybe finding this BG code will be a haxxing workout.

Oh, and for the coolboyman eggs thing, yeah, in 6min i replicated all 6 eggs in Both games.
