Yeah,I read that not too long ago and discussed it with Kirbyfanner,I thought it had something to do with the up and coming BK3,since it was in the new scribes.Mabye he takes his mask off in BK3..who knows...we'll just have to wait and find out..

Personally, I think he would look like an overgrown jinjo if he took his mask off. Just judging by how he looks on the backside in banjo kazooie.

There was also going to be a super mario adventure game using the 3d engine of the snes. But it was scrapped and the title was changed to paper mario.

In Banjo-Kazooie Mumbo has his mask put on him by Grunty and can only have it removed once Grunty is defeated.

Rare forgot about this and as such Mumbo never got his mask removed.

it said it in the bk manual, i read through it a couple of years ago, after the witch was killed he was meant to take it off, but rare forgot, but then again grunty isnt dead yet.

Well from the bits and pieces I have accumulated over the years, the story goes somthing like this..

Mumbo was once the magic teacher of Brentilda and Gruntilda. One day he taught them dark magic, and warned them useing it can reult in horable side effects. After useing some of it, Brentilda vowed never to do it again, because it made her green.

However, Gruntilda being the power-hungery fool she is, used it more them her teacher Mumbo told her. She went mad with power. She cursed Mumbo with a horable disfigurement to his face, and Mumbo put on the mask untill he reverted back to normal. He would only return back to normal when Gruntilda is dead. When she dies, all of her magic dies. That includes the lair, and all her minions. [/story]

On this website I found it has the instruction manual for BK. This is what it says in the Mumbo Jumbo section.

Mumbo Jumbo
A former teacher of Gruntilda's, this mysterious shaman was betrayed by his
pupil before he could prevent her from putting his magic to bad use. The witch
transformed Mumbo's face into a mask of horror to remain that way until
the day she's overthrown...

So I guess he was supposed to lose it after BK, but there were other conditions in this spell.

No. After BK Grunty is alive, but under the rock. After BT< she is alive but only a head.

Overthrown doesn't necessarily mean killed. She got kicked out of her lair, that is overthrown.

So there had to be another condition.

I've read various things by various people various years ago. TBH I don't reamember where I read that. I think Donkey Kong Vine or somthing like that.

But Grunty and Brenty are based off the wizard of oz, with the wicked witch being Grunty and the good fairy-witch to be Brenty..

Dark, Light, Black, White.. Fairy Witch.. Put it together -.-
