Well, even if you can't create legitimate cutscenes, I see that you can still do things with the speech text. Can you at least create new sequences of speech, as in, press "B" at a specific point to have an entirely new conversation in a spot that had nothing to talk to? Or, at the very least, be able to have such sequences in newly-created levels?
Although you can give them any of the different character animations the game contains.

It's definitely possible, but I've yet to isolate any one routine(at the Assembly-code level) that handles every aspect of speech-box generation.

I'm actually working on a side-project involving the compilation of functions -- derived from analyzing ASM routines in Banjo-Kazooie -- into a C-header file for facilitated scripting purposes. In other words, this will enable anyone knowledgeable in C to write custom commands for Banjo Kazooie. Although not much work has been done so far(I initially began this project a little over a year ago, but it's been on an indefinitely long hiatus since about then), I've managed to isolate 'text printing' and 'actor spawning' functionality; The source code, and a save-state file demonstrating both functions, have been provided in the video description.

I also consider this somewhat related to the Mumbo's Wand project, but I doubt it will ever interface directly with the program.

Dude, the first alpha hasn't even been released yet. Hold your horses, of course it will have glitches, you know why. Because it's not finished yet. Just wait patiently until it is released, and enjoy it man And even if it will eventually be compatible with Banjo-Tooie, I doubt that's one of the main priorities now. I reckon the main priority is making sure everything works within Banjo-Kazooie to begin with.

Game On RWP Podcast INFECTED - B1K1 Awesome Default Medal 
I'm currently working on developing a test level with a ~6,000 face model (supplied by wwearea). Complete with 10 Jiggies, 100 notes, 5 jinjos and lots of extra goodies like Mumbo Tokens, extra honeycomb pieces and various collectibles. If you can collect every last item in this level I'll be extremely impressed!

This will really put Mumob's Wand to the test and allow me to discover if there's some more glitches that we missed. Skill has been doing an amazing job and Subdrag has been helping. There's still a few known glitches that need to be fixed and I'm going to attempt to find a solution while building this level.

When the the level is done I think I can release a patch of it. No time estimate at the moment of course.
