Question yet ANOTHER stop and swop theory

okay, i had this theory. before rare dropped SNS, they may have been trying to use it as such. You would go to an area in banjo tooie relative to an area in BK, like HFP ice side relative to FP. you would then proceed to swap cartridges, then you would be able to use mumbo's magic to melt the ice wall, lift sharkfood island, or annihilate the dessert door. of course, there is no mumbo sku8ll in TTC or GV, but maybe sns would add a secret skull in each level

Yes that sounds possible, kind-of like the Crystal Caverns in DK64. That's wher you supposedly flipped a switch of some sort, and then did the transfer. Although you know the final swop was with DK64 right?

What we've found out (The Twilight Birgade in general) is that after pulling a lever using DK in Crystal Caverns, the game would then prompt you to put in B-K, and show you the Ice Door disappearing. So Mumbo melting the ice wall is probably not the way it was intended to work.

Also, DK64 was (Presumbably) a way for Rare to TEST SNS, not to use it. It still had advantages for both games, but it wasn't intended to be used. The full SNS is in DK and B-K, but is currently unacsessable.

Seeing as Nintendo own the rights to the Donkey Kong franchis and not Rare, a re-release on the VC is pretty pssoble. Hopefully, we'll get it before summer.

(Insert witty comment here) I also hope they will put BK and BT on the virtual console, seeing that my nintendo 64 is broken. Anyone have any news on this?

BK and BT are owned by Rare, who is owned by Microsoft, so no. That's also why BK3 is going to be on the 360, not the Wii.

Actauly, Nintendo own the rights the the games themselves, so all they need is confirmation from Rare to go-ahead and release them.

I don't own a Wii so I'm not sure, but aren't virtual console game's emulated? Someone mentioned here before that Emulating Donkey Kong 64 is hard to do because of it's visual effect's. However, it was one of Nintendo's BIG N64 games, so it's probably likely to be on the vitual console.
