To be honest rare need to change alot. All their games since they left nintendo, with the possible exception of VP have been crap and their sales reflect this.

Thats not strictly true. Some games were underrated gems. Just their games nowadays just tend to be monotonous and simple, which isn't good.

It is so sad with the way the economy is going right now...It really makes me feel terrible that despite us, as fans, and our efforts to purchase their games, it still isn't enough to keep their company doing strong, and overcoming the problems with the market right now...= /

Rare didn't help themselves with N&B. Releasing a traditional Banjo, marketing it as a competitor to Galaxy and building up a hype i.e magazines talking about how good the old Banjo games were - would've been a lot more economically viable. They should've used the N&B idea for a new IP.

As for Rare's other titles, Viva isn't doing too badly what with the animated cartoon and such, but they've released very few titles in the last few years that even come close to the AAA glory of their N64 days. Rare need to release that "killer" title that gets them on the map again. Viva isn't that title, and they've ruined Banjo. So I'm thinking either a brand new IP or a good Jet Force Gemini sequel might do the trick.

I didn't know that Viva Pinata was doing WELL, I just thought it was doing okay.
But it's pretty obvious they are REALLY pushing their luck and begging for money by making a TV show...LOL.

I DO miss the days when each title Rare made had that old 'magic' and uniqueness to it...
They're doing the whole 'mainstream' thing these days...

If they can crank out a game like they would have years ago that had their unique style, it would have to be soemthing that started out somewhat simpler without a lot of technology, like the Legend of Zelda series by Nintendo. They always seem to be able to hold onto it due to lack of mechanical devices, and rely moreso on magic, thus making it feel more of a fairy tale, then to actually have technology as our modern world. Technological advancements in certain video games just don't work.
