A whole new concept for Banjo-Threeie
I just came up with a whole new concept for Banjo-Threeie.
Do you remember back in Donkey Kong 64, there were the tag barrels in which you could switch the character to another Kong? I was thinking that concept could be revived for Banjo-Threeie. They would be a series of five pads, (arranged like a six-sided die) with Banjo & Kazooie, Bottles, Jamjars, Mumbo Jumbo, and Humba Wumba's faces on one pad, ALL as playable characters. They would be given their own set of controls, moves and magic powers (for Mumbo and Humba). Just thought that would be good to use. Discuss.

Before I say anything about this idea, first let me say, nice source material. DK64 was a hell of an achievement for Rare, even if some people don't think so because they feel DK is meant to be 2D (but as logic will tell you, it was only 2D because they lacked the power back then to make it 3D, just like Mario).
Now, onto the concept... I feel that DK64 had a lot of moves you could use... but were they really at all useful? I mean, you couldn't really play around with the moves to any pleasing effect, which is a real gripe. After a while, it seemed like all the characters had a uniform feel to their moves and the only difference between them was that you could only pull of a specific characters' move on their respective character pads... which is just lazy game design, IMO. That is what made DK64 inferior to its predecessors (or at least that's what I feel other people must think). Besides that, I think that saturating the player with so many character choices will limit the quality and number of moves for each character, making each character more generic and unsatisfying, just like DK64... No, I think that moves should be limited to Banjo, Kazooie, and Mumbo. Everyone else has to sit tight and hope to be approached to learn a move or be transformed by. I don't care, that's how it has to be for the game to be good. And before anyone brings up Kameo... well, you have a point there. Perhaps Rare has perfected the art of mass character gameplay.

Sure, if you want Banjo-Threeie to be a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-character collect-a-thon. What'd I say?
Collect-a-thon! What's it called? Collect-a-thon. That's right! Collect-a-thon! Collect-a-thon. Collect-a-thon. Collect-a-thon. I hear those games are awfully long... They play as beautifully as a song. Is there a chance my hands could bend? Not on your life, my Hindu friend. What about us brain-dead slobs? GameFAQs will help you with the job. Were you sent here by the devil? No, good sir, I'm on the level. The red ring hit my system, damn! Phone up Microsoft, my good man. I swear it's Springf--Rare Witch's only choice, Throw up your hands and raise your voice! Collect-a-thon! What's it called? Collect-a-thon! Once again! Collect-a-thon!!! But my Xbox is still all cracked and broken... Sorry, but the mob has spoken! Collect-a-thon! Collect-a-thon! Collect-a-thon! ...sorry [/jerkface] |

back on topic, it's a nice idea, but i would prefer it if it was just Banjo, Kazooie and Mumbo, you probably wouldn't use ALL the extra moves

Actually, I don't mind a collect-a-thon. But it'd be good if it wasn't, even with all those characters.

Make that our national anthem!
Good idea, as well. Just put Jinjos in, and I´ll totally agree.

You all know that's just the Monorail song from The Simpsons with different lyrics, right? Just checking.
Honestly though Silent Warrior, I think Rare is gonna be a bit more creative and a little less annoying with this new Banjo game. |

I thought DK64 was fun to play through. I know you may hold a different opinion about it than me, but that's just what I feel would make BK3 more epic.

But I don't think thats is the way to go at all...

I would keep the BK and mumbo setup, except perchance give mumbo a projectile attack, and possibly some fancy magic related moves.
