Perfect Dark G5 Building

I was playing the G5 building on Perfect Agent, and I discovered that if you use Pistol Whip to beat down one of the first two cloaked guards, he drops a Crossbow as well as the CMP<numbers>. I've tried this on the other guards, and they do not drop anything. Has anyone else noticed this before, or know why it happens?
