Cloud Cuckooland Mystery!
I was idly searching for the answer to SNS on another website (forgive me, RWP, I have sinned...) and stumbled upon an interesting little factoid. As it turns out, there's a purple platform near the top of the mountain in BT's "Cloud Cuckooland" which serves no purpose whatsoever. The creepy thing is, though, that on the wall next to it is a black, crooked spot that looks remarkably like a human body... (insert "psycho" theme music here)
As it would be expected of a valiant investigator such as myself, I rushed to my N64, slapped in BT, and went to check it out myself. sure enough, the platform and its disturbing feature are right there where the site said it would be. As you probably imagine, the spot did not react in any way no matter what was shot at it. Probably nothing... but you never know. Perhaps it should be looked into.

Isn't that platform where one of the eyeball plants are?
As for the human body thing, I have no idea and never noticed.

Nope, no eye plants are ever there. I've noticed this place too and investigated. If you look at the BT guide, it shows all the eyeball plant locations and there is none at this point. Plus, there isn't any when you first enter the level. I really don't think it has any apparent purpose whatsoever. It's kinda creepy.

No, the eyeball plant is there. I checked in the game.
But you know what's really creepy? There's a platform much like it at the top of Click Clock Woods that holds a Snarebear...

Nope, not there. There is one with an eyeball plant but there's also one without one. It's above the red Mumbo skull. Check it out. There are three ledges. One with a view of a clockwork button in view, one with an eyeball plant, and one with nothing, except a crack. |

This is indeed odd, especially considering that there appears to be no obvious way to reach this ledge anywhere nearby. The only way to (legitimately) get up to it is by flying with either a flying pad or the bee transformation ...
Maybe the crack is where Canary Mary was created from a piece of the mountainside by Gruntilda. (Just kidding; I had an irresistable urge to say that. )

Anyone try firing a clockwork kazooie egg at the crack?

I fired a few in there, in addition to trying to blast it open with grenade eggs. It appears to be just a texture on the wall.
