Yay! Listening now!
"The game was a huge RPG, which I loved as I was a huge "Zelda" fan, and I tried to write some really strong themes for all the characters." What did I tell ya!? Zelda styled music! Last edited by JohnyT94; 22nd April 2010 at 02:52 PM. |

Done listening! These are my thoughts on it all.
Edsun: Grant called the main character 'Edsun' and not 'Edison'. Maybe just a mistake? Main Theme: Reminds me of Viva Pinata. Chase: I can hear MMM and WW from Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie and can also hear Viva Pinata's day 2 theme (Edison's theme). It has that sort of Freezeezy Peak race with Boggy feel to it too. Troll: Sounds fantastic. Big Belly: Ahaha! This tune is hilarious. I noticed some of the sound effects are in other Rare games. Voyage: I can hear a small bit from Edison's theme. Blackeye: DK64's shipwreck theme (as to be expected). Shanty: This sounds familiar... I think it may remind me of Tooty's theme? Or maybe the credits in Banjo-Kazooie? Bully: Obviously MMM from Banjo-Kazooie. Grant told me he wasn't sure if this tune was actually called 'Bully' but I guess he remembered now. Madeleine: Tooty's theme. I think I can hear a bit of this in 'Shanty'. Cockeye: Sounds great. All: Bloody fantastic! |

Erm...have you heard much music? There's Mendelssohn, Bach, Brahms, Liszt, Wagner, Beethoven, Vierne, Mozart, and so on and so on, and you're picking a flipping video game composer?
Alright... |

@LittleLaurance: Well for a video game composer, he's definitely one of the best. I personally dont compare composers from different genres.

Oh, natürlich. For a video game composer he's great. It's just comparing him to absolute geniuses is way over the top in my opinion.

And you're pretty much going off of opinion here. Yeah- they're geniuses in their field, but is it really your place to state as fact what's better? I too will pick a "flipping video game composer" as my favorite composer ever. I don't understand why it makes a difference whether the composer writes for a classical orchestra or a video game...
