Yeah, WM does this weird thing where he refers to Yooka-Laylee as Yooka or YK even though he surely must know how esoteric and unintuitive this is.

I will use this as an opportunity to quietly ask: when are we going to unban YLKZ? And now I'll meekly retreat back into my corner.

I've seen YK used to describe Yooka Laylee on other sites. I think since the game is so similar to BK and DK64, people tend to think of this new one as YK. It makes sense to me.

Anyway, it is cool that they're guest starring in another game. Brawl Out seems okay, so maybe I'll check it out now.

I didn't realize Brawl Out has been out for a full year already... Although this would tide me over till Smash, I feel like they're only releasing it now on PS4 to try to get a little of the Smash crowd hype before December.

I doubt there will ever be a beloved Smash clone. Smash wasn’t trying to emulate anything. The developers were just trying to create a fun game. Smash clones try to build on what the original was doing. Admirable, but imitations will never hold a candle to the original.
