The SD card is easily accessible on the original 3DS, not sure about the XL.

The back plate is annoying, although I have a 32 gig card anyway, so I pretty much only have to take it off once. I agree about the C-nub though, it's disappointing that they wouldn't just commit to a full analog stick there. Still, the enhanced 3D face-tracker really is amazing. I went from never using the 3D to always using it. It helps that I'm going from an OG system to an XL as well, because that size jump makes everything look better. The system is also super fast; probably my biggest complaint about the original.
I don't think you should necessarily get one if you have an XL now, but it does pretty much fix all of my issues with the normal console.

I've been considering getting a New Nintendo 3DS XL (as of this morning ). Currently only have an original 3DS. Andre's post just put me one step closer to getting one.

Ohshit forgot about the screws on the New XL. Are they screws that a general set of screwdrivers will be able to unscrew?

I don't think I've ever purposely opened Miiverse. It pretty much takes less than a second though from game to home screen, where as with the previous model it would take 5-10 seconds every time.
