Yeah, I'm pretty psyched for this game. I'm taking friday off work to play it with my brother on his 50" Pioneer Kuro Plasma
 . He's even kicking his wife out of the house for the night! I've pre-odered it but I don't think I'll be using the golden lancer... I'll feel too much like a fairy running around, even though I loved pimping my guns in "Army Of Two", those guys at least had to personalities to match it.

Oh my Baird! I got a phone call in school today from my day, "Gears of War 2 has been posted to me today and is waiting at home". I cannot believe or understand why it would come to me a day early but I guess it's a blessing for being a good boy and spreading the word
 I may or may not be on later to tell you what I think but I'll get back to somewhat normal life soon enough hopefully, Ross out.

Well I have to go for a rugby match tomorrow morning with all my stupid friends... but I'll be back at Gears of War 2 as soon as I get back with my cool friends
 . I'll be getting co-op done with my partner (we all partnered up, I got the MLG Gears 1 guy  , second to me of course) tomorrow hopefully, then maybe insane and the collectibles and wave 50 horde.So far I've played a couple of public matches (all ranked now) and I have to say, despite the ubz0r la---g--gg---g and terrible matchmaking waits I'm pretty impressed. The game has turned from a stupid shotgun fest (excluding clan matches) to a tactical maneuvering and angles game. Horde mode is honestly one of the most incredible game modes ever, I cannot wait to get 4 mates and me in there and getting wave after wave completed (today I got to 17 then had to go). Me, 1 friend and 2 random guys used my elaborate tactic on Day One of: -Camp at the alternating Sniper/Torque spawn on the upper tier -Early as possible, grab Boomshields and make sure someone is holding them at the end of a wave (otherwise they will disappear as the map is 'reset somewhat'. -Place (Hold LT and press A) 1 Boomshield in the center or 2 Boomshields side by side at the top or on the first walkway, this blocks a heck of a lot of enemies and you can still melee through them. -For extra effectiveness get a Flame Boomers Scorcher and use it on any locust trying to rush the stairs. If you really need down you can remove the shields too. A huge danger is frag grenades which start maybe around wave 15+. A Horde essential is reviving teammates as soon as you possibly can, even if there's a risk, as Horde is Warzone death rules, you can be downed and killed from range. Any other Horde strategies and tips are appreciated. I have to say, when I got Gears 2 a day early I played with the bots and they are amazing substitutes for players. Casual is fun-easy, and hardcore and insane is a great challenge, I want to play with 4 friends and me versus 5 insane bots to see if it's a challenge. The real danger of the bots is close-combat, they will either switch to shotgun and blow you away (do NOT get into a shotgun battle with hardcore/insane bots...) or chainsaw you, which brings me to a final point: The chainsaw in Gears 2 is stupidly powerful, it's way quicker to rev and takes several shots to lower but even then can rev again pretty much instantly. One good thing is that to initiate the chainsaw animation someone has to be very close to you... Gears 2 rules! EDIT: Cool, 300th Post, which is exactly the same amount of unread e-mails I have right now
