Cynthia's Garchomp magically out sped my entire team and magically also one shot everything with earthquake? Finally managed to switch between two intimidaters, got a Flash off, and then got extremely lucky that earthquake missed my Jirachi so I could dazzling gleam it from half health to death. My entire team was at full health getting to it but it feels like they might have, uhhh, cheated its stats a little bit. Lucario also could one shot stuff that was above its level with Aura Sphere doing neutral or not very effective damage... Like what? Steelix using Iron Tail had also one shot my Staraptor (level 65) which makes...absolutely no sense.



I don't remember it being that unfair in the originals, using a very similar team.

the music in Strange Journey is weird, at least compared to the sound the series usually goes with. but it really grows on you.

La-Mulana 2 dropped it's new CBT DLC, so I've been banging my head over that. I'm determined to solve it without any outside help and so far I've been making slow yet steady progress. I've hit a bit of a snag with the riddle "The second meaning of that which was unused in the trap that was useless", but I'm sure it'll come to me eventually. I'm still alive by the way, so you can reset my dead timer again.

i dont really like it the level designs kinda obtuse and the metroids arent fun to fight

legitimately prefer return of samus. I think it manages a better atmosphere despite being on the gameboy. Also needing to parry bosses to damage them is annoying.

yeah samus returns had a cool ending but otherwise i found the game overly long and monotonous, the level design sucks and the boss design is worse. i'm actually shocked they pulled out something as good as ridley at the end cause he's leagues above the rest of the game's bosses, in a game so obsessed with boss designs that repeat the same endless loop of dodging a boss' attacks until the few moments where they'll let you deal damage ridley's just an all-out panicked slugfest where you're blasting him as hard as possible and it's so much more fun

I finally caved into my constant desire to start playing a new Metroidvania and went with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It does a lot of things right for me, I am enjoying the feel and the mechanics. The campiness of the story so far has hit well for me too. I feel a bit meh that the feminine protagonist is in a super sexy outfit while most of the other masculine characters are completely covered in clothes, but I also enjoy playing as a dope action heroine so kinda have to let it slide. The graphics on switch are pretty trash tho, but they manage to capture the vibe of Symphony of the Night well with how the backgrounds animate and give more oomph to the foregrounds.

Definitely flawed but not flawed enough for me to stop playing. Tho I also impulse bought SotN on PS4 so maybe that'll grab my attention soon enough lmao
