Banjo 3 - Orchestrated Music confirmed?

Sorry if this is old.

http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/3...3d514c2ns9.jpg

This image was found on a certain someone's myspace recently. Recent, as in, it's only been uploaded within the last month or so, which means that it isn't from Viva Pinata's production.

This doesn't rule out some midi music being in the game, but I'd say it looks to point out that we're in for something nice in the new game.

Devil's advocate- it's from a recording session for Viva Pinata 2. Incidentally, if Grant's working on both that and Banjo, he must have gotten ahold of a time turner or something.

I don't see no one playing the banjo in that picture, anyway.

Grant this time isn't the only musician working on Banjo. He's sharing the duty with Robin Beanland. Personally, I'm somewhat disappointed about this as I was hoping for as much Kirkhope music as my poor ears can take. Beanland's Banjo Pilot music was not good for a Banjo game I think. Not bad in itself, but it didn't feel anything like the Banjo music we're used to...

As Grant was lamenting about too much work load on his myspace some time ago I can imagine him working on the new Pinata game too. Especially as he seems to be very fond of this music (deservertly so!).

I don't know where, but I believe somewhere was said that Banjo-3 would get orchestrated music... I don't know the truthfactor of that, nor do I know where it was.

Beanland wasn't working on a Banjo game when he composed that music, though. I reckon it'll be seamless when going between songs composed by one and the other, and you probably wouldn't be able to tell unless Rare actually say who did what. Couldn't tell Steve Burke's songs in Viva, either.

And who can forget Barn Boys?

So, now I don't know anymore, did Beanland do the soundtrack to Banjo-Pilot or not? I need to know that to credit him in my gamerip

What I think watkinzez meant was that it was originally Diddy Kong Pilot, and once it switched over to Banjo, the music carried over and pretty much changed the vibe of the game.

Not that I know for sure as I never played it.

Steve Burke isn't credited for any Pinata music as far as I can see. If he did any it's probably one of the mating songs that simply immitate known musical pieces.
I bet that he did *not* compose any of the classical English sounding 'garden music'. They all sound very much like Kirkhope in his strongest Vaughan Williams
mood.

Yeah, the romance dances. The point was to show the unifying theme between musicians, regardless.

Most of the time, music isn't orchestrated [played live, with instruments] for video games, unless it happens to be a very relevant game, with a big budget. Otherwise, there is another type of music-making, which uses MIDI. These can be created by either playing electric look-a-likes of instruments, which are hooked-up to computers, or by inputting every bit of music into a computer by finger, which can be pain-staking.

I think that covers it.

Music written for orchestra. So many people use the term incorrectly when referring to game music..

I understand now.

I love the music from the games and anything is OK as long as its the same style.
