Vista Problems with Ge Decompressor
Yep, I got vista. It runs really good if you have a fast computer, but geDecompressor is whackin out on me. First it was demanding me for a Dll I dont have now It wont properly inject files to where I tell them and the rom gets corrupted. If anyone uses vista and geDecompressor please tell me how you got it to work.

The decompressor wasnt decompressing the game fully. Then it wasnt injecting the files properly and corrupting the game. But I didnt get rid of vista just for that. Ive been having security issues with memory editors, my computers use of memory went up when playing games, and alot more problems that just frustrated the crap outta me. So I dumped it untill vista gets better.

When i was trying to patch a F-zero X rom with the DXP hack it kept telling me there was a problem and should reboot, everytime i rebooted same problem.
When i did it on XP it was over in a second and had it patched

I see... just a heads up though, I hear support for XP will soon stop although I I've heard it for a while so I have no clear cut date when...

Official support will stop. Technically, windows 98 doesn't have any support, yet half their XP updates get ported to it, it has visual themes now, and can run most XP applications via the kernel extension.
Interestingly, most Vista problems have to do with where files are as opposed to what they are or what they do. You'd be surprised how often deleting a folder, then restoring it from the recycle bin will fix things. Why? It automatically sets the file protections to the appropriate levels. Weird stuff. |

Mind you, the visual themes are an api made by tihy himself (MSFN) and not actualy the XP api. The KEx does have a stub of the uxtheme.dll for some compatability issues with XP apps. KEx itself has a long way to go too. At the moment I am running the Areo Blue Theme Trev |
